About this project
What does Cursed Cuts add?
Cursed Cuts
Some hungers shouldn't be fed. This mod feeds them anyway.
Cursed Cuts is a cannibalism themed NeoForge mod built around a full meat processing chain, a tiered line of cleaver weapons, a summonable wendigo enemy, and a craving system that quietly punishes you for eating anything else. It's dark, it's a little unhinged, and it's meant to be played for the atmosphere as much as the mechanics.
What's in the mod
A full meat chain. Kill villagers or players and harvest steak-like meat, then chop it down into ground meat and meatballs using a cleaver on the cutting board. Cook it, combine it, and eventually work your way up to a proper meatball sub, a genuinely strong, satisfying meal once you've committed to the theme.
Three tiers of cleaver. Iron, Diamond, and Distorted (netherite tier) cleavers, each stronger and slower than the last. Every tier also serves as the tool for the meat chopping mechanic, so you're never without a way to work the cutting board once you've made your first one.
The Cutting Board. A dedicated crafting station modeled after the classic "place an item, hit it with a tool" style seen in mods like Farmer's Delight. Place raw meat down, chop it with any cleaver, and watch it visually transform into the next stage of the chain. Anything that isn't meant to be cut will just sit there, undisturbed, with a message letting you know it doesn't belong there.
The Wendigo. A rare, genuinely dangerous enemy summoned by eating a ritual item called Cursed Raw Meat at night. It hits hard, has real health behind it, and drops Distorted Flesh, the key ingredient for crafting Distorted Ingots and eventually the top tier cleaver.
Decorative Pikes. Place a plain Pike, then attach a head or skull to it. Player heads and mob heads trigger a bloodied, gorier variant of the pike, while actual skulls (Skeleton and Wither Skeleton) attach just as cleanly but leave the pike unbloodied. Breaking a bloody pike always resets it back to a clean pike, so every new head tells its own story.
A craving system that watches what you eat. Stick to human meat and you're rewarded: your craving stays low, and you can eat the mod's riskier foods, like Distorted Flesh, without consequence. Lean on normal food too often, though, and your craving climbs, quietly draining the saturation you get from anything outside the chain and eventually giving you a subtle, unsettling visual reminder that something's wrong. Stray far enough from the diet and even Distorted Flesh starts making you sick.
Baby Brains, with or without MCA Reborn. Killing a child villager always drops Baby Brains, a rare, powerful food item on par with an enchanted golden apple, no other mods required. If you do run MCA Reborn alongside Cursed Cuts, there's a second path too: place an MCA baby item on the cutting board and chop it with a cleaver for the same result.
A note on tone
This is a horror-adjacent, dark comedy mod first and foremost. It's built for players and server communities who want something a little grim and a little funny sitting alongside their regular survival experience, not a mod that takes itself too seriously.
A taste of the recipes
- Iron Cleaver: 6 Iron Ingots and 2 Sticks, your entry point into the whole mod
- Cutting Board: 4 wooden slabs of any type, the station where the real work happens
- Diamond Cleaver: a Human Spine, 7 Diamonds, and a Gold Ingot, a serious investment for a serious upgrade
- Cursed Raw Meat: 2 Steak Meat, 1 Baby Brain, 1 Human Spine, 1 Human Roast, and 4 Ground Meat, a full crafting table's worth of ingredients for a single, terrible ritual meal
Everything past that, the top tier cleaver, the meatball sub, and the rest of the chain, is yours to discover.
Credits
Cursed Cuts is a true collaboration between Kontpab and Cosmic Slime. The ideas behind the mod, the meat chain, the wendigo, the whole dark little world of it, came from both of them bouncing concepts back and forth and refining them together. Kontpab built those ideas into working systems in code, while Cosmic Slime brought every single item, weapon, and creature to life through Blockbench art and modeling. Neither half of this mod happens without the other.
Compatibility
Built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. MCA Reborn integration is fully optional, the mod loads and works normally with or without it installed.
