Available for Fabric Available for NeoForge

Description

This mod makes so you need to manually ignite blocks before they can be used. Furnace-like blocks such as Furnaces, Smokers and Blast Furnaces, will only start processing the items when you right-click them with a Torch or Flint and Steel. Campfires are placed unlit and can be ignited the same way.

Features

Furnace Blocks Ignition

Furnace blocks (Furnace, Smoker and Blast Furnace), will not start processing items on its own, you will need to ignite the fuel using (Right-clicking the block with) an Igniter item, like Torches, Flint and Steel or any item in the ìgnity:igniters item tag.

Items in the ignity:consumable_igniters item tag used to ignite will be consumed on the process and items with durability will take damage.

Unlit by Default

Blocks like Campfires will be placed unlit.

(Planned Feature: Make Torches and Lanterns also be unlit when placed)

Automation

Furnaces will be ignited automatically when blaze rods, lava buckets or any other fuel in the ignity:self_igniting_fuel item tag is used.

You can also activate a Dispenser with Flint and Steel pointed at a furnace to ignite it.

Data Based

The mod uses tags to identify what items and blocks are affected by its features.

Item Tags:

  • ignity:consumable_igniters - Will be consumed when used to ignite a block.
  • ignity:igniter_tools - Tools like Flint and Steel that can be used to ignite blocks.
  • ignity:igniters - Global identifier for items that can be used to ignite blocks. (includes consumable_igniters and igniter_tools)
  • ignity:self_igniting_fuel - Ignites the block when used as fuel.

Block Tags:

  • ignity:needs_igniting - Can be ignited by items in the igniters tag. If is a furnace-like block, will only start processing when ignited.
  • ignity:is_placed_unlit - Is placed unlit. (Only supports campfire blocks for now)
