About this project

What does 千里寻踪 Trace-Seeker add?

QianLi XunZong

A point-and-locate world exploration utility mod: Input or select target structures/biomes. Click the search button to locate them, return precise coordinates and distance, and teleport to the destination with one click. Its standout feature is automatic identification and localization for content from other mods in modpacks, ready to use offline out of the box.

1. Core Gameplay

Craft Item: Craft the QianLi XunZong item at a crafting table using recipes such as Birch Logs + Amethyst. Recipes are added to the recipe book via built-in mod advancements, unlocked upon world join.

Open Interface: Hold the item and right-click to open the QianLi XunZong search UI. The game pauses in single-player, consistent with the pause menu.

Tracking Workflow: Switch to the Structures / Biomes tab → Select an entry from the list or type the target in the search box → Click Track. The Bagua compass pointer dynamically rotates toward the target. The result panel displays the Chinese name, X/Y/Z coordinates and distance. Click Next to find the next instance of the same type within range (iterates sequentially in radius). After locating, click Teleport to jump directly to the target. Teleport logic is optimized to prevent suffocation damage from getting stuck inside blocks. Search radius: To be determined.

2. UI Functions

Three tabs: Structures / Biomes / History. History entries can be revisited and teleported to. Intelligent search box: Supports filtering by four types of input: Chinese name, English name, Pinyin, source mod ID. Example: Searching infested temple matches dungeons_arise:infested_temple. Search Chinese mod names (e.g. Iron Spells, Dungeons Arise) or their mod IDs (e.g. irons_spellbooks) to list all structures/biomes from that mod. Grouped by dimension: List ordered Overworld → Nether → End → Custom Dimensions. Custom dimensions will not be misclassified as Overworld. Bagua Compass + Result Panel: Pointer smoothly rotates toward target. Results are center-aligned in Chinese with automatic line wrapping.

3. Auto Identification & Localization (Key Feature)

The mod’s translation layer AutoNameResolver automatically assigns readable names for structures and biomes from all mods in the pack, with this resolution priority:

  1. Manually configured custom Chinese names
  2. Built-in localized names provided by the source mod
  3. Internal word bank (curated from wiki resources) Falls back to raw registry name if none above are available. All processing runs offline, no online translation service required.

4. Automatic Dimension Detection (Compatible with Dimension-adding Mods)

When dimension-expansion mods are installed (such as Twilight Forest, The Abyss, custom dimension packs), their structures and biomes can be categorized properly. Full compatibility with every mod is not guaranteed; dimension names will also be auto-localized.

5. Additional Features

HUD Projection: While holding the QianLi XunZong item, the HUD shows the last tracking result and real-time distance for reference while traveling. Performance Friendly: The target list requests data from the server only once when the UI opens; subsequent compass calculations and displays run purely client-side. Multi-block / Multiplayer Support: Search requests are sent via network packets and processed server-side, fully functional in multiplayer worlds.
