Niu Lai

An unofficial Minecraft fan mod inspired by the animated film Niu Lai (牛来). It brings the orange calf Niu Lai and his giant golden mother Niu Mama into Minecraft, with exaggerated attacks for a playful mob encounter.

They leave you alone until provoked. Hit one, and the fight begins.

Meet the cows

• Niu Lai (牛来 / 뉴라이): the smaller, faster son, with a single charge, three charging clones, and a forward ground slam.
• Niu Mama (牛妈妈 / 뉴마마): his larger, tougher mother, with three charges, five clones, and three circular shockwaves.
• At half health, each gains protection and stronger attacks. Niu Lai is watched over by a spectral mother.

The attacks are this mod's playful interpretation. Animated 3D effects, ground markings, and sound make the moves visible even with particles set to Minimal. Boss bars show the mob's name and health.

Install and play

Minecraft Java 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.249 or newer in the 21.1 series · Java 21. No additional library mods are required.

Put the JAR in your instance's mods folder. For multiplayer, install it on both the server and connecting clients. Replace the old Golden Cow JAR with this version; do not install both.

Use the Niu Lai Spawn Egg or Niu Mama Spawn Egg in Creative, or summon them:

Switch to Survival and hit a cow to start combat. The internal IDs are unchanged so existing worlds, spawn eggs, and player-assigned names keep working.

Charges destroy terrain. Both cows and their clones break ordinary blocks around their bodies, dropping blocks and container contents as items. Supporting ground and unbreakable blocks such as bedrock remain. Destruction respects mobGriefing and NeoForge block-protection events. Use /gamerule mobGriefing false to disable terrain damage.

Version 0.1.2

Renamed the mod from Golden Cow to Niu Lai and corrected the English and Korean mob names throughout the game. This release also includes fixes for clone summon markers, Thorns responses, lethal damage reflection, and leftover charge movement after loading a save. All 23 server GameTests pass.

Both English and Korean are included in one JAR and follow the game's language. Natural spawning and custom loot are not implemented yet. Remote multiplayer and large groups of simultaneous bosses have not been tested.

About the fan mod

Inspired by the film Niu Lai (牛来). This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the film's creators, Mojang, or Microsoft. The combat abilities are additions made for Minecraft. Character meshes and animations were recreated in Blender; no film footage, original audio, or extracted models are bundled.

Development disclosure: AI tools were used extensively for code, Blender construction scripts, and release text, guided and reviewed by the creator. The shipped effects use 3D meshes and Minecraft materials, with no generated image textures. No generative AI service runs during gameplay.

애니메이션 영화 《牛来》(Niu Lai)에서 영감을 받은 비공식 Minecraft 팬 모드입니다. 주황색 송아지 뉴라이와 거대한 황금빛 엄마 뉴마마를 가벼운 개그 전투 몬스터로 만나볼 수 있습니다.

평소에는 중립이지만, 먼저 공격하면 반격합니다.

뉴라이와 뉴마마

• 뉴라이 (牛来 / Niu Lai): 작고 빠른 아들입니다. 한 번의 돌진, 분신 3체, 전방 대지 강타를 사용합니다.
• 뉴마마 (牛妈妈 / Niu Mama): 더 크고 강한 엄마입니다. 세 번의 돌진, 분신 5체, 주변 전체를 덮는 충격파 3회를 사용합니다.
• 체력이 절반 이하로 내려가면 보호 효과와 강화된 공격을 얻습니다. 뉴라이의 뒤에는 엄마 수호 환영이 나타납니다.

공격 기술은 모드에서 재미를 위해 각색한 설정입니다. 입체 효과·지면 표시·소리로 공격을 표현하며, 파티클을 최소로 설정해도 보입니다. 체력바에는 몬스터 이름과 체력만 표시됩니다.

설치와 플레이

Minecraft Java 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.249 이상, 21.1 계열 · Java 21. 별도 라이브러리 모드는 필요하지 않습니다.

JAR를 인스턴스의 mods 폴더에 넣습니다. 멀티플레이는 서버와 접속 클라이언트 양쪽에 설치합니다. 기존 Golden Cow / 황금소 JAR는 새 버전으로 교체하고, 두 파일을 함께 넣지 않습니다.

크리에이티브에서 뉴라이 생성 알, 뉴마마 생성 알을 사용하거나 다음 명령으로 소환합니다.

생존 모드에서 소를 공격하면 전투가 시작됩니다. 기존 월드의 개체·생성 알·이름표로 붙인 이름을 유지하도록 내부 ID는 그대로 사용합니다.

돌진은 실제 지형을 파괴합니다. 본체와 분신 모두 몸 주변의 일반 블록을 부수며, 블록과 상자의 내용물은 아이템으로 떨어집니다. 발밑을 지지하는 바닥과 기반암 같은 파괴 불가 블록은 유지합니다. mobGriefing과 NeoForge 블록 보호 이벤트를 따르며, /gamerule mobGriefing false로 지형 파괴를 끌 수 있습니다.

모드 이름을 Golden Cow / 황금소에서 Niu Lai / 뉴라이로 바꾸고, 게임 전반의 캐릭터 이름을 바로잡았습니다. 분신 소환 표시, 가시 인챈트, 피해 반사 중 사망 처리, 저장 후 남는 돌진 속도 수정도 포함합니다. 서버 GameTest 23개를 통과했습니다.

한 JAR에 한국어와 영어를 함께 넣었으며 게임 언어를 따라갑니다. 자연 생성과 전용 전리품은 아직 없습니다. 실제 원격 멀티플레이와 다수 보스 동시 전투의 성능은 미검증입니다.

팬 모드 안내

영화 《牛来》(Niu Lai)에서 영감을 받은 비공식 팬 프로젝트이며, 영화 제작진·Mojang·Microsoft와 관계가 없습니다. 전투 기술은 Minecraft용으로 추가한 설정입니다. 모델과 동작은 Blender에서 재제작했으며 영화 영상·원작 음성·추출 모델은 포함하지 않습니다.

제작 과정 안내: 코드, Blender 제작 스크립트, 배포 글 작성에 AI 도구를 광범위하게 사용했고 제작자가 방향을 정하고 검토했습니다. 현재 효과는 입체 메시와 Minecraft 재질을 사용하며 생성형 이미지 텍스처는 포함하지 않습니다. 플레이 중 생성형 AI 서비스는 사용하지 않습니다.
