About this project
What does Burning Touch add?
Burning Touch Mod!
Burning Touch adds a single enchantment: it instantly smelts ores that would normally require smelting. Forget about using a furnace or filling your inventory with raw ore.

What does it do?
When you mine a compatible block with a pickaxe or shovel enchanted with Burning Touch, the resulting item is automatically smelted. Break iron ore and get an ingot. Break a wet sponge and get a dry one.
It also works well with Fortune: items are multiplied before smelting, allowing you to get the most out of both enchantments combined.
Smoke and flame particles appear depending on the block.
Compatible blocks
| Block | Result |
|---|---|
| Iron Ore / Deepslate Iron Ore | Iron Ingot |
| Gold Ore / Deepslate Gold Ore | Gold Ingot |
| Copper Ore / Deepslate Copper Ore | Copper Ingot |
| Ancient Debris | Netherite Scrap |
| Wet Sponge | Sponge |
| Sand / Red Sand | Glass / Red Glass |
How to get it
Burning Touch uses the game's native systems; it requires no custom interfaces or commands.
- Enchanting Table: appears like any other enchantment, with a rarity similar to Silk Touch.
- Librarian Villagers: available as a trade offer.
- Loot Chests: can appear in dungeons and other structures.
It is mutually exclusive with Silk Touch.
This is my first Minecraft mod and my first time developing a mod for any game. I built it to learn and had a lot of fun doing it. If you run into any issues or have suggestions, feel free to open an issue — any feedback is genuinely appreciated.
