About this project

What does Practical Firearms add?

Practical Firearms
"Experience authentic firefights with simple controls."

This mod goes beyond merely adding guns; it implements features such as magazine ammo tracking, multiple ammo types, armor penetration, ballistic armor, and anti-tank weaponry. It is designed to make pre-combat loadout selection and ammunition management crucial, all while avoiding overly complex controls.

It is designed to work seamlessly with the "Pillager Army" mod, providing the firepower needed to handle a wide range of enemies—from reinforced Pillager infantry to armored vehicles.

🔫 Diverse Firearms

A variety of weapons for different roles are included, ranging from handguns to anti-armor weaponry.

HG — Handgun
SG — Shotgun
AR — Assault Rifle
SR — Sniper Rifle
RPG — Portable Rocket Launcher
Recoilless Rifle — Powerful anti-armor weapon

Sniper rifle scopes support variable magnification, allowing you to adapt to the situation and engagement distance.

🔄 Realistic Magazine System

This is one of the key features of Practical Firearms.

Reloading does not cause the ammunition remaining in the magazine to disappear.

For example, if you reload a 30-round magazine after firing 10 rounds, the magazine containing the remaining 20 rounds returns to your inventory.

Magazines containing ammo are tracked individually and cannot be stacked. Conversely, completely empty magazines can be stacked.

Furthermore, magazines function similarly to vanilla bundles;

you can manually load ammo into them or remove remaining rounds.

Managing your ammunition before and after combat is just as important as the firefights themselves.

📦 Multiple Ammo Types

Multiple types of ammunition are available for the guns.

For handguns, for instance, options include:

Standard / AP (Armor-Piercing) / Hollow-Point

Damage and armor-penetration capabilities vary by ammo type; rounds effective against unarmored enemies differ in nature from those effective against enemies wearing ballistic armor.

However, a single magazine can only hold one type of ammunition. You can carry multiple types of magazines and choose which ammunition type to use based on the situation.

🛡️ Body Armor

If guns are powerful, you need gear to counter them.

Practical Firearms adds body armor for players.

Protection isn't just about raw defense stats; armor-piercing capabilities come into play, making the combination of ammunition and armor crucial.

When used alongside the "Pillager Army" mod, this armor becomes essential for surviving battles against gun-wielding Pillagers.

💥 Grenades and Anti-Armor Weapons

The battlefield isn't limited to infantry combat.

In addition to hand grenades, you can use powerful heavy weapons like RPGs and recoilless rifles.

Grenades feature a fuse mechanism, so timing matters between activation and throwing. If you hold an activated grenade for too long, it will detonate in your hand.

It is up to the player to decide: wait a moment before throwing to deny the enemy reaction time, or prioritize safety and throw it immediately?

Detailed Firearm Mechanics

Features like spent shell casings ejecting upon firing add a sense of realism while maintaining simplicity.

Practical Firearms does not aim to make controls unnecessarily complex.

"Easy to handle, yet rewarding strategic thought regarding ammo and equipment."

That is the kind of firefight experience this mod brings to Minecraft.

🩹 Combat Medical Gear

Beyond firearms, combat-grade medical kits are available.

Using a kit takes 3 seconds; upon success, you instantly restore HP and gain a 25-second Regeneration effect.

Do you heal right in front of the enemy, or retreat to safety first? In the heat of a firefight, timing your treatment is critical.

It supports English, Russian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. It also supports JEI.

Potential future additions:
・Flamethrower
・Anti-materiel rifle
・Grenade launcher
・Automatic shotgun
・LMG
・SMG
