About this project
What does Perhaps Chests add?
PerhapsChests
Perhaps it's treasure. Perhaps it has teeth.
PerhapsChests fills your world with mysterious chests, breakable pots, valuable loot, and creatures pretending to be something they're not.
Explore caves, oceans, distant dimensions, and different biomes to discover unique treasure containers—but don't get too comfortable. That chest you're about to open might be a Mimic waiting for its next meal.
🧰 Chests Everywhere
Different environments contain their own chest variants, each with fitting appearances and loot.
PerhapsChests includes biome- and dimension-themed chests such as Normal, Lush, Sandstone, Deepslate, Ice, Coral, Molten, Gold, and Void chests.
You'll also find pots scattered throughout the world. Break them open while exploring to find useful supplies and small pieces of loot.
👁️ Mimics
Not every chest is actually a chest.
Some treasure containers may reveal themselves as hostile Mimics when you try to interact with them. Mimics can also appear naturally, disguising themselves as ordinary storage until a player gets too close.
Defeat them for useful materials, keys, and other rewards—but don't underestimate them.
❤️ Pet Mimics
With the right items, a Mimic can become something much friendlier.
Pet Mimics follow their owner, provide portable storage, and can help defend them in combat. They can sit, carry items, fight alongside you, and even be protected using the locking system.
Sometimes the best chest is one with legs.
🔐 Keys & Locks
PerhapsChests includes a full key and lock system tied into exploration and progression.
Different keys are used for different kinds of locked containers, while rarer chests may require special keys before their treasure can be accessed.
Locks can also be used to protect your own chests and Pet Mimics from other players.
And remember: just because a chest is locked doesn't necessarily mean it's a chest.
🌎 Built for Exploration
PerhapsChests is designed to make exploring caves and distant biomes more rewarding and unpredictable.
Instead of knowing exactly what you'll find, every strange chest becomes a small gamble:
Treasure... or teeth?
