About this project

What does Companio add?

Companio

Small flying companions with the skins of any Minecraft player

Companio is a client-side Fabric mod that adds small flying companions made from player heads. Create up to six companions, give each one a name, and let them explore the space around you.

Use the default Steve appearance or enter any Minecraft username to load that player's skin.

A little company for every adventure

Each companion flies independently. They choose their own destinations, move at different heights, smoothly turn in the direction of travel, and quickly catch up when their owner gets too far away.

Features

  • Up to six companions at the same time
  • Skins loaded by Minecraft username
  • A separate custom name for every companion
  • Independent flight paths and smooth movement
  • Faster flight when catching up with the owner
  • Obstacle detection and basic block avoidance
  • Personal space between companions
  • Individual removal by number
  • In-game flight configuration
  • Command suggestions with Tab Completion
  • English and Russian localization
  • Fully client-side — no server installation required

Smarter flight

Companions do not simply circle around the player.

Each one selects free points nearby and changes its destination from time to time.

When an obstacle appears, a companion tries to move around it or fly above it. If the route is blocked, it slows down and chooses another destination.

Nearby companions also gently move apart instead of occupying the same position.

Commands

/companio create Create a companion with the default Steve head.

/companio create <username> Create a companion with a player's skin.

/companio name <number> <name> Give a companion a name.

/companio name <number> clear Remove a companion's name.

/companio remove <number> Remove one companion.

/companio remove all Remove all companions.

/companio reload Reload the configuration file.

The number of a new companion is shown in chat after creation.

Flight configuration

Settings are saved immediately and applied without restarting the game.

/companio config distance <1-12> Free-flight distance.

/companio config height <1.5-6> Flight height.

/companio config speed <0.04-0.2> Normal flight speed.

/companio config follow-speed <0.25-0.8> Catch-up speed.

/companio config smoothness <1-10> Acceleration and braking smoothness.

/companio config sharpness <1-10> Turning sharpness.

Recommended values are available through Tab Completion, but any value within the allowed range can be entered manually.
