About this project
What does Productive Bees EMI Fix add?
Productive Bees EMI Fix
Productive Bees ships a JEI integration only. On a pack that uses EMI as its recipe viewer, none of its bee information is reachable: no hive output, no centrifuge, no breeding, no nest spawning. The bees do not even show up as ingredients.
This mod adds that integration to EMI, and fixes a bug in Productive Bees that breaks bee breeding whether or not you use a recipe viewer at all.
What it adds to EMI
Five categories, built from Productive Bees' own recipes:
- Bee Hive Production — what each bee puts in an advanced hive
- Centrifuge — comb to resource, powered centrifuge included
- Bee Breeding — which two bees make which
- Bee Conversion — feed an item to a bee to convert it
- Nest Spawning — which nest spawns which bee, and in which biomes
Bees render as the actual bee, not as a spawn egg icon, and each one is its own ingredient: clicking a bee shows its recipes, not every bee's recipes. The same goes for combs, which Productive Bees also stores as a single item separated by NBT.
The bug it fixes
Productive Bees builds its internal bee list by walking the entity registry and checking the minecraft:beehive_inhabitors tag. That happens during recipe deserialization, which runs before entity tags are bound, so the tag lookup throws. The exception is swallowed, every hardcoded bee is dropped, and the cache is never rebuilt because it is no longer empty.
The visible result: breeding recipes whose parents are hardcoded bees never match, and Productive Bees logs Bee not found in breeding recipe. Coal (Magmatic x Leafcutter) and Iron (Crystalline x Ashy Mining) are the ones people usually notice. On JEI it also takes down the whole Productive Bees plugin, because its breeding category icon is hardcoded to the Quarry Bee.
This mod repairs the cache once entity tags are actually bound.
Installing
Put the same jar in both places:
| Side | What it does there |
|---|---|
| Client | the EMI categories — each player needs it to see them |
| Server | the breeding fix — install once, applies to everyone |
Single player covers both with one install. The mod does not sync anything, so players without it can still join a server that has it; they just will not see the EMI categories.
