Scuffed Souls Core
Just some features for my WIP modpack I'm making. Data driven stuff as well.
Quick answer
Which Scuffed Souls Core release should I use?
Scuffed Souls Core scuffedsouls-1.20.1.jar targets 1.20.1 with Forge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 2 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Scuffed Souls Core required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Scuffed Souls Core scuffedsouls-1.20.1.jar need?
scuffedsouls-1.20.1.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Epic Stats Remastered (Discontinued), Epic Fight first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 12 come through another mod in the chain.
12 extra mods were pulled in by other dependencies. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Scuffed Souls Core add?
This core mod only features the following:
- Effect Buildup
- Weapon Requirements
- XP Keeper (kinda like where souls stay where you died, type of stuff)
- Enchantment Disabler (It only fires when you put enchanted items and books into your inventory)
- Axe + Vanilla Log Recipes (A bug from NoTreePunching)
- Lychnus (from the experimental bosses mod) + Nether Remastered Compat
- Souls Message Banners Compats
Below are the data-driven features:
Effect Buildup's pretty simple: it adds a buildup meter that needs to fill up for an effect to fire; stacking pretty much just resets the effect's timer. It currently affects harmful effects, such as slowness, poison, wither, etc.
This is the path:
data/scuffedsouls/buildup/<modid>/<effectname>.json
Here's an example format:
{ "max_buildup": 100.0, "decay_per_tick": 0.1, "buildup_per_application": 25.0, "color": "4CAF50", "activation": { "type": "mob_effect", "effect": "minecraft:poison", "duration": 200, "amplifier": 0 }}
So here are some mods that are included with the effect buildup:
- Legendary Monsters
- LEnder Cataclysm
- (Minecraft's base mob effect is also included)
Weapon Requirements require Epic Stats Remastered to function, so this is a must-have dependency. It basically means you can't hit entities if you don't meet the requirements.
Here is the path:
data/scuffedsouls/weapon_requirements/<modid>.json
And here's the format:
{ "requirements": [ { "item": "epicfight_awaken:will_of_king", "stats": [ {"stat": "strength", "min": 40}, {"stat": "intelligence", "min": 50}, {"stat": "dexterity", "min": 30} ] }, { "item": "epicfight_awaken:rage_of_flame", "stats": [ {"stat": "strength", "min": 50}, {"stat": "intelligence", "min": 40}, {"stat": "dexterity", "min": 30} ] }, { "item": "epicfight_awaken:darknight_pursuiters", "stats": [ {"stat": "strength", "min": 40}, {"stat": "luck", "min": 30}, {"stat": "dexterity", "min": 50} ] } ]}
Here are the default compats for the weapon requirements:
- EpicFight (latest version)
- EpicFight Resurrection (install this patch to prevent it from crashing)
- Weapon of Miracles (latest version)
- EpicFight Awaken
- Epicfight DawnDay
- L Ender Cataclysm
- Legendary Monsters
- Oddities (That one mod with a praying Mantis as its boss)
Oh, and keep in mind, this mod was made with the help of Claude (except for the compat part; I had to do it myself XD)
