Auto W-tap
One key, automatic sprint reset. Releases W for a tick after every melee hit so every hit is a sprint-knockback hit - client-side Fabric, no hacked client needed.

Where it goes
Is Auto W-tap required on the client, server, or both?

The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Auto W-tap autowtap-1.0.0.jar need?
autowtap-1.0.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Auto W-tap add?
Auto W-tap is a lightweight client-side Fabric mod that automates the W-tap (sprint reset) in Minecraft PvP.
Toggle key: turn it on/off anytime with J (shows an "ON / OFF" message above the hotbar). Rebind it in Options → Controls → Auto W-tap.
What it does: while enabled, every time you hit a living entity (player or mob) while sprinting, the mod lets go of your forward key for one tick and then hands control back to your real W press. That cancels the sprint and starts a fresh one, so your next hit gets the full sprint-knockback again instead of the reduced knockback of a "stale" sprint.
Legit input path: the mod does not send any packets itself. It only rewrites the client's movement input for the release tick - exactly what happens when you tap W by hand, just tick-perfect every time.
Settings (config/autowtap.json, created on first launch):
releaseTicks(default1) – how many ticks W is released (1 tick = 50 ms)onlyWhenSprinting(defaulttrue) – only reset when you were actually sprintingplayersOnly(defaultfalse) – ignore mobs, react to player hits onlydoubleTapWhenNoSprintKey(defaulttrue) – if you sprint by double-tapping W instead of a sprint key, the mod performs a real double tap so vanilla starts the sprint againenabledOnStart(defaulttrue) – start enabled when the game launches
It never triggers on end crystals, boats or other non-living entities, so it plays nicely with Auto Crystal.
Requirements: Fabric Loader, Fabric API, Minecraft 1.21.8 – 1.21.11, Java 21. Client side only.
