About this project
What does Enchanting Library add?
What it does
Enchanting tables search a 15-block radius in every direction, including above and below. This is a sphere measured between block positions, a shelf 15 blocks east counts one 15 east and 15 north does not.
Regular bookshelves each provide one bookshelf's worth of enchanting power.
Chiseled bookshelves each provide one bookshelf's worth of power only when all six slots contain books. Every book item the shelf normally accepts is supported.
Walls, carpets, torches, and other intervening blocks do not block enchanting power. No air gap or prescribed shelf arrangement is needed.
Vanilla enchanting letters travel from nearby qualifying shelves toward the table, using Minecraft's normal glyph animation. Full chiseled shelves emit letters too.
Fifteen qualifying shelves still unlock the usual level-30 option. Enchantment rules, lapis costs, and experience costs remain vanilla.
Works with existing enchanting tables as well as newly placed ones, in every dimension.
