About this project

What does Floating Screens add?

Floating Screens — Pantallas Flotantes

Floating Screens is a client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that lets you place multimedia screens at precise coordinates in your world. Rotate, tilt, resize, or set them to always face your camera. No server-side installation or commands are required; each player's screens remain local to their own client.

Features • Play local videos, direct media URLs and images. YouTube links require the optional WATERMeDIA YouTube extension. • Play supported audio files with distance-based volume. • Open the screen manager with F8 to create, edit, enable and remove screens. • Seek, pause and resume supported videos using a progress bar. Live streams may not support seeking. • Hold Alt + right-click while aiming at a screen corner to move it with your view. • On Windows, display another application's window using Windows Graphics Capture. This feature targets up to 60 FPS, depending on the source application and your Minecraft frame rate.

Requirements Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Fabric Loader, Java 21, Fabric API, WaterFrames, WATERMeDIA 2.x and CreativeCore for Fabric. The WATERMeDIA YouTube extension is optional. Window capture on Windows additionally requires a recent FFmpeg build with the gfxcapture filter; FFmpeg is not included in this mod.

Important limitations Screens are visible and audible only to the player who installed the mod; they are not synchronized with other players. Window capture carries image only, not the other application's audio. Minimized, protected or suspended windows may stop providing frames. A constant 60 FPS cannot be guaranteed.
