About this project

What does Dextrous Movement add?

Dextrous Movement improves how players move around narrow and partial block collision.

When normal movement is blocked by things like bamboo, fence posts, poles, or tight corners, the mod can apply a small sideways correction to help the player continue moving. If that is not enough, it can briefly enter a squeeze state that allows selected thin blocks to use reduced or ignored collision while the player moves past them.

The player’s actual hitbox is not resized. Instead, the mod adjusts movement and block collision to approximate the way a person could turn or shift their body around an obstacle.

If installed with Playeranimator, it plays a small animation whenever this happens.

The system is configurable through block tags and supports both Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
