Tortoises

Tortoises can be found in deserts and badlands, and only spawn as babies. Tortoises that grow up naturally become untamable, but when fed dandelions as a baby, can be tamed. Tamed tortoises grow larger than wild tortoises, and can be equipped with a saddle, carpets, and three chests of inventory space. Tortoises can also be fed carrots to breed.

Tortoise inventory has a simple UI to cycle through and organize. Tortoise inventory can also only be altered by the user who tamed it to begin with. Holding space while riding a tortoise makes it hide in its shell, becoming completely invulnerable to all damage.

Additionally, upon growing up, tortoises drop their scutes! Tortoise scutes can be crafted into a new weapon: The Tortoise Shell, which can be thrown at opponents to deal damage, bounce off of walls and mobs to hit other mobs, press buttons, drop hanging dripstone, and flick levers. Tortoise shells can be enchanted with Loyalty, Power, Punch, Unbreaking, Mending, and a brand new enchant, Richochet, which helps the shell aim at opponents when bounced off walls. Higher levels of richochet deal more damage, going up to Richochet III.

• Tortoises can also be bred with Cabbage and Cabbage Leaves from Farmer's Delight.

• Tortoises can also be equipped with Sleeping Bags from Comforts, as an alternative to carpets.
