For forge 1.20.1

Cosmic Horizons and Core With Stuff are in Forge. And Palladium Cosmos is an addon

to both: it adds the worlds of DC, Marvel and Invincible to their sky, and gives

Content:

  • The Origin Stone. You get one when you first enter the world, and it asks a

single question: where are you from. Earth, Mars, Asgard, Krypton or Viltrum. The

answer sends you there and it is the answer for good — the stone is spent on it.

Throw it away before choosing and you get another one on your way back in, because

what ends the question is the choice, not owning the item.

  • Born with something. Choosing a world that has powers opens a second menu right

after the trip: Superman or Kryptonian for Krypton, the Dreyse Heroes viltrumite

or the Viltrumite Core one for Viltrum. One only, and for good. A power whose mod

is not installed is still listed, marked Not installed, so you can see what the

world offers before you own it. Turn the whole menu off with the gamerule and the

stone is only a place to be born.

  • Viltrum and Krypton, built over. Both planets carry cities that keep going past

the horizon: towers in six profiles with four kinds of roof, plazas, low blocks,

bridges strung between the high floors, and one landmark tower that shows up in

one city centre in ten. The coverage is not a grid of blocks with gaps — it is

noise, so forest, mountain and ocean survive between the districts instead of being

squared off. Mars gets the same city at a third of the density.

  • The Lantern Corps monument. The symbol standing in the open on Oa, bars and all,

with Lanterns keeping it and one more standing guard inside the ring. It is a real

worldgen structure, so /locate finds it.

  • Every Corps has a home. Korugar for Sinestro's Yellow, Ysmault for the Red,

Okaara for Larfleeze's Orange, Zamaron for the Star Sapphires, Nok for the Indigo

Tribe, Ryut for the Black Lanterns — six planets in the DC galaxy, each with its own

landmark: a citadel, an altar, a hoard with treasure buried around it, a temple, a

sanctuary, a tomb. With Foi1y's Lantern Corps installed, the citadel, the altar and

the hoard keep their Corps' power battery.

  • The Corps fly their worlds. Green Lanterns on Oa, and every other Corps on its

own planet, spawning there and patrolling around whoever visits. They fly in, strike

and circle. Green Lanterns fight with the ring: a beam, a construct fist, a

construct cage that shuts you in glass, a shield. Green, Violet and Indigo leave you

alone until you hit one of them — then the rest nearby remember it too. Yellow, Red,

Orange and Black come for you on sight, and the Black Lanterns get back up from

what should have finished them.

  • Viltrumites. The same idea made worse: stronger, hunting, and hostile to anyone

who is not one of them. Seven skins, picked when each one spawns.

  • Things that come down from the sky. Galactus, Arishem and Doctor Doom in the

Marvel galaxy, Darkseid on Apokolips, Sinestro on Korugar and Qward, Atrocitus on

Ysmault, Larfleeze on Okaara. Every few minutes the sky may decide it is your turn:

a countdown, then the arrival, with coordinates for everyone. Each boss has a boss

bar, its own lines, and its own mix of beams, slams, meteor rain, life drain, bolts,

napalm, teleports, shields, cages and Corps called in to help. Defeat Darkseid,

Arishem or Doom and the power is yours. Sinestro, Atrocitus and Larfleeze drop

their ring.

  • Take a battery, and its owner notices. Break the power battery in the Korugar,

Ysmault or Okaara structure and Sinestro, Atrocitus or Larfleeze arrives to take it

back. Operators can start or stop any event with /cosmicevent, and one gamerule

turns the natural ones off.

  • Viltrumite flight for everyone. With Viltrumite Flight installed, one gamerule

turns every power flight — Palladium, Dreyse Heroes — into Viltrumite flight, speed,

sound barrier and Mach disc included. Characters who could fly still can, and

anyone who is not a Viltrumite flies without tunnelling through mountains: a hill

in the way slows you down instead. Capes follow the pose. And if you would rather

look like your own hero, the Palladium Accessories menu has Flight Visuals →

Standard Flight: the body still flies Viltrumite-style, but the pose, the outline,

the trails and the flight animation are your power's own.

  • The Starship. A piloted ship for everyone who cannot fly by themselves — a real

3D model, not a block. It banks into its turns, the cockpit has its own HUD with

horizon, compass and speed, and the sprint key throws it into hyperpulse. In first

person you see the cockpit and nothing else: not the hull, not your own arms.

Some of them sit parked on city rooftops.

  • Leaving the planet. Fly high enough and the Fly to Space key takes you up through

the atmosphere to the space your world belongs to. Every planet of this mod has its

own exit, and so does every planet Cosmic Horizons knows, which is why a planet

added by a datapack works without anything being changed here.

  • The Cosmic Map. One key shows what is around you: the bodies of the space you are

in, or the galaxies if you are in the universe, each one with a globe you can turn

before you go. Black holes are marked too. Pick a body, or click empty space for a

point of your own, and the autopilot takes over: launch, cruise, a charged jump,

braking on arrival, on a route that goes around planets and black holes instead of

through them. Crouch to take the controls back. Everyone watching sees the trail in

the colour of where you are going. The list is not written down anywhere in this mod

— it is read from whichever mod owns the dimension, so a new world shows up by

itself.

  • Heroes of the cosmos. Doctor Doom, with his armour assembling piece by piece, a

teleport, Mystic Arts — and, near a black hole, Singularity Ascension into God Doom,

white armour, orbital railgun and the SS-01 Shooting Star. Dr. Manhattan, who

disintegrates, teleports, moves things with his mind, walks through walls, grows

colossal and repairs what he carries while he meditates. Arishem, the Celestial,

with the Judgment beam, gravity waves and a form the size of a planet in space.

Galactus and Darkseid suit up gradually too. The giant forms can be hit where you

aim — head, torso, arms, legs — and no longer drag the game down on a world.

  • Arriving is a question, not an accident. Touch a planet or a galaxy and you are

asked whether to go in. Space is somewhere you pass through: the road from Krypton

to Apokolips scrapes past Oa, and being taken down there without a word is a

kidnapping. Say no and you keep flying, and it stays quiet until you leave and come

back. Say yes and Core With Stuff takes you down its own way, with the ship and

everyone riding it.

  • The Bifrost, called by the one who needs it. An Asgardian opens the bridge with a

key, wherever they are. Heimdall still opens it too, for everyone else, and the

crossing itself uses whichever bridge the pack has — Dreyse Heroes' if it is there,

Powerborne's otherwise.

  • Three suns, three colours. A red giant over the DC worlds, a blue one over Marvel,

a purple one over Andromeda.

  • Worlds worth digging. Krypton, Viltrum, Oa, Apokolips and the Martian lands get

the full vanilla ore range, and caves with something in them: dungeons, fossils,

geodes, moss and azalea off the ceiling, glow berries, lichen. No dripstone — a

cave that is only dripstone is not a cave, it is a texture.

  • The settings menu. One key opens it, and it holds three things: the gamerules

of this mod, the structures of every world, and the race you were born as —

handed back to you, once, if you want a different one. Reading it is open to

everyone; changing anything asks for the same operator permission the /gamerule

command does, because all of it is world-wide. Lines you may not change are

greyed out rather than hidden, so nobody has to guess how the server is set up.

  • An Overworld that is still an Overworld. Forty mods all aim their structures at

the same world, and the result is a place where you cannot walk a hundred blocks

without hitting somebody's base. One gamerule turns every modded structure off

there at once. Vanilla villages and fortresses are never touched, and no other

dimension is either.

  • Every world, one at a time. The menu lists the dimensions that actually have

modded structures — the Overworld, the moons, the hero mods' worlds, the planets

of this one — with how many each holds, and opens the list of the one you pick.

So turning the towers off in the Overworld is not also turning them off on

Viltrum. All ON and All OFF sit above each list, because a pack this size counts

them by the hundred and one at a time is work, not choice. The list lives in

config/palladiumcosmos-structures.json, not in the save: it answers what you want

in your game, not what one world happens to contain, so it holds for the world

you play tonight and the one you make next week.

  • Go and see it. Every structure in those lists has a button. An operator is taken

there, in that world, wherever they were standing. Everyone else, if they carry

Explorer's Compass, gets the needle pointed at it instead and walks — and says

Here when they arrive, which puts the compass back to normal. Knowing where a

thing is was never the operator's privilege; arriving for free is.

  • The menu knows where it is. The Minecraft logo on the title screen is replaced,

and the Java Edition line under it goes with it.

  • It turns off the other mod's question. Viltrumite Core asks your race on the first

login and, worse, counts everyone as a viltrumite until they answer — which is where

viltrumite flight kept showing up on characters who were not. Both settings are put

back in its config file on startup, and the screen is refused on the client as well,

because there is no telling which mod loads first. Here the Origin Stone decides

what you are, and nothing else does.

  • No squad falling out of nowhere. Viltrumite Core rolls its own world events on

the Overworld every so often — the Conquest, the trio. Off by default here: this

mod puts Viltrumites on Viltrum, where being one means something, and a landing

party on top of somebody who chose to be Terran is another mod's story happening

over this one. One gamerule brings them back. An event already underway always

finishes.

  • Lanterns in Portuguese. Foi1y's Lantern Corps is fully translated to Brazilian

Portuguese, ring oaths included, whenever the game is set to it. A separate

"Lanternas PT-BR" resource pack translates the items and messages (not the oaths)

for packs that do not have this mod.

  • Legends, without the wait. Legends suits now really give their powers, and one

gamerule takes the cooldowns away.

  • A world of heroes. Vanilla hostile mobs are off by default. Modded ones are not —

the point is to clear out the zombie and the creeper, not the mod you installed the

pack for.
