About this project

What does BiteRate add?

🍎 BiteRate: Dynamic Diet Mechanics

Tired of players instantly spam-eating steaks in the middle of combat? BiteRate introduces a balanced, vanilla-friendly digestion and diet mechanic to Minecraft! Your daily food intake now matters.

⚙️ Core Mechanics

  • 🍔 Daily Limit: Every food item has a daily quota based on its nutrition value.
  • ⚠ Overeating Penalty: If you eat past your daily limit, the time it takes to consume food increases dynamically! The more you overeat, the longer it takes to chew your food.
  • 🌱 Dietary Bonus: Go to sleep without crossing your overeating threshold, and you will be rewarded with a "Diet Bonus" for the next day.
  • 💚 Excess Nutrition = Regeneration: While the Diet Bonus is active, eating food that gives more hunger points than you are missing won't slow you down. Instead, the excess nutrition converts into a temporary Regeneration effect!

📊 Clean & Intuitive UI

No need to guess your stats! BiteRate provides a highly detailed, color-coded tooltip for all food items:

  • Real-time eating duration calculation.
  • Daily diet tracker (Green -> Orange -> Red).
  • Current active penalties or bonuses.

🛠️ Highly Configurable

Perfect for modpacks and hardcore servers! Almost everything can be tweaked in the config file:

  • Max daily nutrition cap.
  • Time penalty multipliers and maximum eating duration.
  • Excluded foods list.

Requires NeoForge 1.21.1 | If you enjoy the mod, consider leaving a comment or supporting the development!
