| Edition | Minecraft | Loader | Java |
|---|---|---|---|
| NeoForge | 1.21.1 | NeoForge 21.1.251 or newer for 1.21.1 | 21 |

Install the matching main JAR in mods on both the client and server. Both sides need the same Blood Bits: Flow version. Remove older copies before updating. Minecraft 1.21.1 worlds should not be downgraded to 1.20.1.
The Forge edition bundles MixinExtras; no separate required library mod is needed.
Forge 1.20.1 features
Optional Curios integration supports functional and cosmetic accessory slots. Accessories keep their own blood, dirt and wetness when removed or transferred. Removed wet equipment dries in the player's inventory. Rain gradually washes away dirt; fresh blood mixes with existing soil layers.
Open Mods → Blood Bits: Flow → Config to view shared world/server settings. The single-player owner or a server operator can set blood colours, enable or disable bleeding for individual entity types, and edit texture exclusions with a pixel brush.
Automatic texture filters avoid staining detected flame and liquid regions while retaining solid parts of mixed textures. Manual Block and Allow rules handle ambiguous textures. Detected glass panels can collect blood, including glass regions within mixed models.
Colour changes apply to new stains. Disabling an entity type stops new blood and hides its stored body marks; existing stains on blocks and items remain.
Curios API is installed separately: use 5.14.1+1.20.1 or newer within the 5.x branch with the Forge edition.
Beta status
These builds are beta releases. Unusual models, custom renderers and resource packs may need further adjustments. Compatibility with every mod is not guaranteed. The latest rendering changes and dedicated-server operation still need in-game verification.
