About this project

What does Arcforge add?

Arcforge

A tech mod of power, heat, and steel: build machines, automate production, and scale up to industrial multiblock arrays.

About

Arcforge is a Forge Energy tech mod for Minecraft 26.3 on NeoForge. Burn fuel or tap into lava for heat, turn that heat into power, bake coal into coke, forge steel, and scale up from single machines to multiblock arrays.

Every machine exposes energy, fluids, and items through NeoForge's standard capabilities, so Arcforge works with cables, pipes, and machines from any other FE mod.

🔥 Power & Heat

Arcforge runs on two connected systems: FE and heat (HU). Heat machines have a real temperature, heat only flows from hotter to colder, and hotter heat converts to power more efficiently.

  • Combustion Plant burns coal directly into FE. Simple, but the least efficient.
  • Firebox burns solid fuel into heat.
  • Fuel Burner burns liquid fuels like creosote into heat. Fuels are data-driven, so packs can add their own.
  • Geothermal Plant draws heat from lava in its tank, plus passive heat from touching lava and magma blocks.
  • Thermoelectric Plant converts heat into FE. The hotter the input, the higher the efficiency, and running hot enough pushes it past 100%.

🏭 Steel

  • Carbonizer is a scalable multiblock coke oven with up to 8 chambers that bakes coal into coal coke and collects creosote. Bigger chambers bake bigger batches.
  • Arcforge Furnace is a towering 3x3x6 brick multiblock. Burn coal coke to heat it past 1,200°C, then smelt iron and coke into steel, with slag as a byproduct.

⚙️ Processing

Every processing machine has a single-block version and a 3x3x3 multiblock Array with three parallel lanes that run faster on less energy.

  • Arc Crusher / Arc Crushing Array crushes ores into dusts, with bonus outputs. The Array doubles ore yield.
  • Induction Furnace / Induction Furnace Array smelts anything with a furnace recipe using FE.
  • Metal Press / Metal Pressing Array presses steel into plates, gears, and rods using swappable, reusable dies. Each Array lane holds its own die.
  • Fiberizer uses heat and FE to spin slag and basalt into Slag Wool and Rock Wool.
  • Infuser soaks wood in creosote to make Treated Wood.

All recipes are data-driven, so datapacks and other mods can add their own.

🪵 Building Blocks

A full Treated Wood set: logs, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, gates, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, and buttons. Also Arcforge Furnace Bricks, brick walls, and storage blocks for steel and coal coke.

🔌 Logistics & Storage

Conduits, tanks, and cells come in four tiers: Wrought, Tempered, Hardened, and Arcforged.

  • Conduits for energy, items, fluids, and heat. Glass item and fluid conduits show what's flowing through them, and energy and heat conduits glow while active.
  • Fluid Tanks that show and glow with their contents. Pick one up with the wrench to keep its fluid.
  • Energy Cells from 500,000 FE up to 256 million FE.
  • Heat Cells store heat, but it slowly leaks away. Higher tiers are better insulated.

🛠️ Control & Upgrades

  • Speed, Energy, and Heat upgrades for machines, and Insulation upgrades to slow Heat Cell leakage.
  • Per-face side configuration for every machine, tank, and cell.
  • Redstone control: always on, on with signal, or on without signal.
  • Wrench to rotate machines, configure conduits, check multiblock structures, and pick up machines with their contents and settings intact.
  • Comparator support for tanks and cells.

⚖️ Configurable

Balance values (heat and FE rates, buffer sizes, temperatures, burn speeds, efficiency, multiblock limits) can be tuned in config/arcforge-common.toml, making it easy to fit Arcforge into any modpack.
