About this project

What does Server Cleave add?

Cleave breaks connected blocks in one go, on the server. Mine one ore and the whole vein goes. Break one log and the tree comes down. Cut a tunnel through stone in a single swing.

Players connect with a completely vanilla client. There is nothing to install on their side, no modded launcher and no version mismatch, which makes it usable on public servers where you cannot ask everyone to set something up. It also works in single player and on LAN worlds.

Features

  • Vein mining for ores, with configurable block lists and a maximum per break
  • Whole-tree felling with an axe, leaves included, on its own block budget
  • Giant vein mining for large mixed formations, like iron embedded in tuff
  • Tunnelling at a configurable width, height and depth
  • Forced vein mining that ignores the block list for a single break
  • Fortune, Silk Touch and Unbreaking apply across the whole operation
  • Optional tool-break protection, and a durability multiplier if you want bulk breaking to cost more than mining by hand

Control

Every feature can be switched off server-wide, restricted per player by a moderator, or toggled by players for themselves. Block lists can be edited in game without restarting, and each player chooses whether the mod triggers while crouching, while not crouching, or always.

Commands for players

  • /cleave shows the help
  • /cleave enable and /cleave disable turn the mod on or off for yourself
  • /cleave enable tree does the same for tree felling, and /cleave enable giantVein for giant vein mining
  • /cleave config triggerWhen shows or sets when the mod triggers, either crouch_button_not_held, crouch_button_held or always
  • /cleave tunnel 3 3 10 starts a tunnel three wide, three high and ten deep
  • /cleave tunnel cancel stops tunnelling
  • /cleave force makes the next block you break a forced vein mine

Commands for moderators

  • /cleave allow PLAYER and /cleave restrict PLAYER control the whole mod for one player
  • /cleave allow tree PLAYER does the same for a single feature, and works with tunnel, giantVein and force
  • /cleave serverConfig lists the block lists that can be edited live
  • /cleave serverConfig KEY add VALUE adds a block or tag, and remove takes one out

The old /svmm command still works as an alias, so anything scripted against the original mod keeps running.

Credit and licence

Cleave is a fork of Server-side Vein Miner by Tourmi, distributed under the GPLv3. The original is published for Forge only. This fork adds Fabric and NeoForge builds, whole-tree felling and a configurable durability cost.
