About this project

What does Ghost Hand add?

Ghost Hand

Your whole inventory, one click away.

Holding a sword with torches buried in your backpack? Hold Alt and right-click a wall. The torch gets placed and your sword never leaves your hand.

Ghost Hand looks at what you're aiming at, picks the right item from your inventory, uses it, and puts everything back where it was.

What it can do

  • Torches on any solid surface, even chests and crafting tables
  • Buckets on water, lava and cows
  • Seeds on farmland, bone meal on crops and saplings
  • Axes to strip logs, hoes and shovels on dirt, shovels to put out campfires
  • Shears on sheep, bones for wild wolves, food for hurt wolves, cats and horses
  • Anywhere: ender pearls, wind charges, fireworks while gliding, food when hungry, potions

If more than one item fits, hold Alt and scroll to pick one. A small label at the top of the screen shows what will be used.

Safe by design

  • Uses only normal inventory actions, so items are never lost, duplicated or dropped
  • Used-up or broken items are handled, and your original item always comes back
  • Never acts while a menu is open
  • Without Alt held, right-click works exactly like vanilla

Details

  • Client-side only. Works on vanilla, Fabric and Paper servers without installing anything on the server
  • Configurable: press G (or use Mod Menu) to change the modifier key, toggle the HUD, and turn each rule on or off
  • Mod-friendly: uses item and block tags, so correctly tagged modded tools and crops work too

Requires Fabric API. Minecraft 1.21.1.

Servers with strict anti-cheat plugins may flag the inventory swaps.
