About this project
What does Flash Droid add?
Flash Droid
Flash Droid is an Android compatibility mod for Flashback that brings replay editing, camera controls and video exporting to Minecraft Java Edition running on Android.
It is designed to work alongside the original Flashback mod and does not replace or redistribute Flashback itself.
Features
- Android-compatible Flashback video rendering
- ARM64 FFmpeg support built directly into the mod
- FREE, POV and FOLLOW camera modes
- Camera keyframe placement and navigation
- Smooth and cut camera transitions
- Previous/Next camera navigation
- Replay speed controls
- Timeline seeking controls
- Touch-friendly editor controls
- Camera mode and keyframe information displayed in-game
- Unique video filenames so previous renders are not overwritten
Flash Droid keeps Flashback's normal camera path system underneath the Android camera controls, allowing you to create cinematic camera movements, switch into player POV or FOLLOW shots, and transition back into a free camera path.
Requirements
- Minecraft Java Edition
- Fabric Loader
- Flashback (you'll need to get this elsewhere as it's not on Curseforge apparently)
- Fabric API where required by your Flashback setup
- An ARM64 Android device
Flash Droid is intended for Android Java Edition launchers capable of running Fabric mods.
Camera Editing How-to
_A typical camera workflow is:_
Seek to a position ➡️ move the FREE camera ➡️ add a camera key ➡️ select FREE, POV or FOLLOW ➡️ choose CUT or SMOOTH.
Every camera key keeps an underlying Flashback camera position, even when POV or FOLLOW is selected. This allows the camera to transition back into a cinematic FREE camera path later in the replay.
Rendering
Flash Droid includes the ARM64 native libraries required for Flashback's video export system on Android. Finished videos are exported using unique filenames so multiple renders can be kept without overwriting earlier exports.
Important
Flashback is a separate mod and must be installed alongside Flash Droid.
Flash Droid is an Android compatibility companion for Flashback and is not affiliated with or a replacement for the original Flashback project.
