About this project

What does Forgotten Item add?

Forgotten Item

Forgotten Item reminds you when you leave something important behind.

Put your Silk Touch pickaxe in a chest, get distracted, and start walking away. About 40 blocks later, a small vanilla-style notification appears:

⚠ Forgotten Item Diamond Pickaxe (Silk Touch) Chest • 43m behind you

A subtle arrow at the top of the screen points you back to it.

Features

  • Knows what matters: enchanted gear, elytra, totems, netherite, filled shulker boxes, and anything you mark with Ctrl + Middle Click. It never warns about dirt or cobblestone.
  • Learns your habits: items you carry all the time get priority.
  • Few false alarms: it ignores items you dropped, swapped for another of the same kind, just moved between chests, or still carry a copy of.
  • Works with chests, double chests, barrels, shulker boxes and ender chests.
  • Client-side only: no server install needed, and it works in multiplayer.
  • Observation only: it never touches your inventory or sends extra packets.
  • Private: everything stays on your computer, with no data collection and no internet connection.
