About this project
What does Botanists and Minerals add?
🌾 Botanists and Minerals
Botanists and Minerals is an MCreator mod that adds a collection of crops capable of producing renewable mineral resources. Each crop corresponds to a specific Minecraft resource and produces a raw crop product when fully grown.
Raw crops must go through several stages of processing using custom crafting stations before they can be converted into their corresponding Minecraft resources.
⚖️ Balance Comes First
The mod includes several mechanics designed to keep Ore Crops balanced and prevent large quantities of resources from being obtained too easily.
- Seed drop rates can be configured using game rules.
- Final production costs can be customized using game rules.
- Crop Research introduces progression and delays access to higher-tier resources such as Diamond.
- Seeds for rarer resources are naturally more difficult to obtain due to the lower world generation rates of their corresponding ores.
- Harvesting a crop only returns one seed, preventing farms from being rapidly expanded without obtaining additional seeds from their original resource.
- Wandering Trader seed trades require both Emeralds and blocks of the corresponding resource, providing an alternative method of obtaining seeds while maintaining a resource cost.
⭐ Features
The mod includes several farming, progression, processing, and automation mechanics:
- Rare seeds can be obtained by mining ores or, in some cases, smelting resources.
- Crops must be researched before their seeds can be planted.
- Ore Crops can be planted on Farmland.
- Crops have light requirements for planting and growing.
- Bees carrying nectar can pollinate crops and advance their growth.
- Crops can be harvested by flowing water, allowing automated farming systems to be created.
- Raw Crops can be processed into Crop Dust.
- Crop Dust can be processed into Compacted Crop Dust.
- Compacted Crop Dust can be processed into the corresponding Minecraft resource.
- 9 Crop Dust are required to produce one Compacted Crop Dust.
- Processing can be automated using Hoppers and other redstone systems.
- Seeds for rarer resources, such as Diamond and Ancient Debris, are naturally harder to obtain due to their lower ore generation rates.
- The mod uses tags where possible to improve compatibility with other mods.
🌽 Crop Types
The mod currently includes 10 Ore Crops:
- Carbon Lily – Coal
- Irontail – Iron
- Cuprum – Copper
- Emnip – Emerald
- Lapbarb – Lapis Lazuli
- Gorn – Gold
- Redtus – Redstone
- Diamlic – Diamond
- Quash – Quartz
- Debage – Ancient Debris
⚙️ Machines
Raw crop products are processed through three crafting stations in the following order:
- Grindstone – Available in Andesite, Diorite, Granite, and Stone variants.
- Compactor
- Smelter – Available in Andesite, Diorite, Granite, and Stone variants.
The complete processing chain is:
Raw Crop → Crop Dust → Compacted Crop Dust → Minecraft Resource
💪 Compacted Blocks
Compacted Blocks provide additional decorative building options. Their textures can be used for floors, walls, and other decorative structures.
🧩 Made With Vanilla MCreator
