About this project
What does Cross Server Shops [LightmansCurrency] add?
Cross Server Shops:
Cross Server Shops links Lightman's Currency shops across multiple Minecraft worlds through one always-on Node relay. Players buy from another world's shop in Lightman's own trader screen, opened from a Trading Terminal. The buyer pays on their world. The shop owner is paid on the world that holds the stock. No database, proxy, or Velocity setup is required. Created for CTE2 Servers
Cross-Server Shops:
- Shops from every linked world show on the Trading Terminal, tagged with that world's display name
- Sale trades are shared. A shop buying from a player, and barter trades, stay on the world that owns them.
- Out-of-stock sales are hidden, and return after a restock syncs
- A world that goes quiet drops off the list, and its shops return when it connects again
- The first buyer locks the stock. If they cannot pay, or the hold runs out, the items go back on the shelf
- Payment uses the coin slots, the wallet, and the bank account
- Shops whose owner has not played on that world for the configured number of days are hidden, and return the next time they play there
- Team shops with no single player owner stay visible
- Optional limit so only shops with a network upgrade are synced
Bulk Buy:
- Scroll up over a sale to raise the amount, and scroll down to lower it
- The amount starts at 1
- The cap is the stock in the shop, the money the player can pay, and maxBuysPerClick
- The server's maxBuysPerClick wins when the client config is higher
- Works on local shops and shops from other worlds
- Shop purchases and barter stay one at a time
Cross-Server Auctions:
- Optional. Turn crossServerAuctions on for the client and every linked world
- Auction listings from other worlds show in the local auction house
- Bids are paid on the bidder's world
- A higher bid refunds the previous bidder on their world
- Won items are delivered to that player's auction storage on their world
Relay:
- One Node process stays online while the Minecraft worlds restart
- Every world dials out to it, so paid hosts do not need a port forward
- Raw TCP on the relay port. Leave it off HTTP reverse proxies
- Console and shop.log lines for connect, disconnect, shops, purchases, and auctions
- The shared secret is never written to the log
Setup Guide:
- Install Lightman's Currency and this mod on the client and on every Minecraft server. Use the same jar everywhere.
- Pick one hub. Use a Node server, or use one of your own Minecraft servers.
- Set crossServerAuctions to true on the client and every linked server if auction listings should be shared.
- Stop each Minecraft server before replacing the jar or the config, then start it again.
Node Server:
- Open the mod jar and copy the relay folder out. It contains server.js, textures.js, gear.js, config.json, package.json, and the public folder (the page and coin textures)
- In that config.json, set a private secret and the port (7778). Start it with node server.js from the app folder
- Open that TCP port to the relay machine
- The shop viewer is a normal web page on webPort (7780). It has a Network Traders tab and an Auctions tab, plus an All tab and one tab per server. Prices and bids use the coin textures. By default it only listens on 127.0.0.1, so point Caddy or another ddns reroot at http://127.0.0.1:7780 if you want it public. Set webPort to 0 to turn the page off. Set webHost to 0.0.0.0 only if you want the page itself open on that port
- The shop viewer reads item icons from the server mods folder. Set modsFolder to that server's mods folder, or to the server folder itself. Vanilla models are read from the server libraries when the client extra jar is there. If that jar is missing, the relay downloads the matching Minecraft client jar once and keeps it in a cache folder. Items are drawn the way they look in the hotbar, including 3D models, and animated textures play. You do not copy the textures yourself. Mine and Slash gear uses its own name, and hovering an item shows its stats and enchantments.
- On each Minecraft server, edit config/cross_server_shops-common.toml. Give each world its own serverId and displayName. Use the same sharedSecret as the relay. Set hubAddress to the relay host, hubPort to 7778, and listen to false
- The relay stays up while the Minecraft worlds restart
Using Minecraft Server:
- That server is the hub. It forwards shop lists, purchases, and auction bids between the worlds connected to it
- On the hub server, set listen to true, and leave hubAddress and peers empty. Give it its own serverId and displayName
- Forward TCP 7778 to that machine. This is the shop link, separate from the Minecraft port
- On every other server, set listen to false, set hubAddress to the hub server's public address, and keep hubPort at 7778
- Use the same sharedSecret everywhere
- While the hub server is down for a restart, the other worlds lose the link and each other's shops drop off until it is back
