About this project

What does AutoMart add?

Automart

A phone in your pocket — for your roleplay server.

Automart adds a fully-featured in-game phone to Minecraft: buy and sell vehicles on a marketplace, bank through Lightman's Currency, text and call other players with real voice chat, and more — all from one item.

⚠️ Early Beta. Automart is actively in development. Core features work and have been tested, but you should expect occasional bugs, and some planned features are not in yet (see Roadmap below). Back up your world before installing on a live server. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Features

  • Marketplace — buy and sell vehicles with other players, with search, sorting, and listings that expire over time.
  • Banking — a full front-end for your Lightman's Currency balance: view your balance, send money to other players, and see your transaction history.
  • Contacts, Messages & Calls — every player gets a unique, random phone number (carried on a SIM card, not tied to the phone itself). Text other players, or call them with real voice chat through Simple Voice Chat, complete with a phone-quality audio filter so calls actually sound like calls.
  • SIM cards — your number, contacts, and message history live on your SIM, not your phone. Lose your phone, keep your number — just pop the SIM into a new one.
  • PIN lock (optional) — set a 4-digit PIN to lock your phone, or skip it entirely if you'd rather not bother.
  • Live notifications — incoming calls and messages show right on the phone's own screen, visible to nearby players too — no floating pop-ups breaking immersion.
  • Admin & moderation tools — mute, ban, or look up players by number, review reported messages, and check Banking activity, all through in-game commands.

Requirements

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Forge: for 1.20.1 (latest recommended)
  • Lightman's Currency — required. Automart's Banking and Marketplace apps are built directly on top of it.
  • Simple Voice Chat — optional. Required only for the Calls app to function. Without it, Automart still loads fine — Calls will just show "Voice chat required."
  • Immersive Vehicles (MTS) — required. As the mod was orginally gonning to be a market place to buy and sell cars

Installation

  1. Install Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.
  2. Install Lightman's Currency (required).
  3. (Optional) Install Simple Voice Chat if you want the Calls app to work.
  4. Drop the Automart .jar into your mods folder, server and client alike.
  5. Start the server. Config options are generated in config/automart-common.toml — see below.

Getting a Phone

By default, phones are not given automatically. Server owners can:

  • Enable the config option to give a phone on first join, and/or
  • Enable the crafting recipe (also toggleable in config), and/or
  • Use /phone give <player> to hand one out manually.

Commands (admin)

Command Description
/phone give <player> Give a player a phone
/phone lookup <number|player> Look up a number's owner, or a player's number
/sim give <player> Give a new SIM with a fresh number
/sim reissue <number> Reissue a SIM for an existing number
/phone mute <player> [minutes] Mute a player's texting
/phone calls ban <player> [minutes] Block a player from calling/being called
/phone reports list View reported messages
/bank log <player> View a player's Banking history

(Full command list and permission levels in the wiki / config comments.)

Known Issues / Beta Notes

  • Voicemail is not yet implemented — planned for a future update.
  • This mod has been tested with small groups of players; larger-scale server testing is ongoing.
  • Report bugs via [Issues link] — please include steps to reproduce where possible.

Roadmap

  • Voicemail (recorded voice messages)
  • Additional home screen apps
  • Further polish to notification and call UX
