About this project

What does AdvancedAnnouncements — Professional Global Broadcast & Template System add?

AdvancedAnnouncements is an ultra-lightweight, server-only Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that offers customizable announcements, timed events, and reusable message templates featuring an intuitive command structure, infinite component chaining, multi-user dynamic variable support, and an on-demand disk-read help system.

✨ Features & Core Systems

  • Infinite Component Architecture: Completely redesigned template system replacing rigid prefix/text fields with an unlimited chain of independent blocks, combining custom colors and styles fluidly.
  • Template Management: Create, save, and reuse custom message templates with distinct text styles and full support for multi-user dynamic variables.
  • Timed Broadcast Events: Schedule recurring server announcements at precise time intervals with fully configurable intervals and independent visual styling.
  • Extended Multi-User Support: Native compatibility for multiple positional variables ($player1, $player2, $player3, etc.) within a single template for advanced moderation and administrative notices.
  • On-Demand Help System (Zero RAM Impact): A quick command reference guide accessible directly by executing /announce without arguments, read straight from disk on-demand to protect server memory.
  • Hot-Reloading: Instantly apply configuration and template updates via /announce reload without requiring a server restart or consuming disk/memory overhead.
  • Intuitive Command Structure: Clean, human-readable command syntax utilizing a greedyString logic for effortless scaling and command completion.
  • FakePing Integration (Virtual Player Autocompletion): Features an optional runtime bridge that communicates with our fake player mod (FakePing) to dynamically extract visible virtual names and offer them directly in chat autocompletion.
  • Extreme Performance Optimization: Designed specifically for low-spec servers with zero static memory persistence for help texts, efficient immutable snapshots, and direct string scanning.

⚙️ Configuration Parameters & Structure

  • enabled: Globally turns the announcement and event system on or off.
  • maxTemplateComponents: Configuration parameter to optionally manage the cap or lack of a limit for components per template.
  • fakePingTabSuggestions: A boolean parameter (true by default) that toggles the integration with our fake player mod to include virtual names in autocompletion.
  • Directory & File Structure: The mod file is compiled as AdvancedAnnouncements-1.0.3-Forge-1.20.1-final.jar, and upon running, it automatically generates its dedicated configuration folder in config/advancedannouncements/, containing structured JSON persistence and the on-demand help.txt file.

🕹️ Commands Reference Important Note: Although the mod and its folder are identified under the name AdvancedAnnouncements, the root command you must use inside the game is strictly /announce.
