About this project
What does DDS Trader Editor add?
DDS Trader Editor turns any villager or wandering trader into a shop you control. Right-click one with the admin wand and a full editor opens: twelve trades, every cost and reward, how many times each one can be used, how much experience it grants and how fast its price drifts. Save, and the villager sells exactly what you decided.
Built for server owners and map makers who are tired of rerolling villagers until the right trade shows up.
Getting started
Grab the Trade Editor Wand from the Coins & Items creative tab, or run:
/give @p villagertradeadmin:trade_editor_wand
Then right-click any villager or wandering trader. The editor replaces the normal trading screen. By default it requires operator permission level 2, which is configurable.
The editor
Twelve trades laid out as cost A + cost B = result. The second cost is optional, and rows without a result are ignored when you save.
Trade slots are ghost slots: clicking one with an item in hand drops in a copy. Your item never leaves your inventory, so you can price a shop around diamond blocks without owning a single one.
| In a trade slot | What happens |
|---|---|
| Left-click holding an item | Copies it with the stack size you are holding |
| Right-click holding an item | Sets it to 1, or adds 1 if it is already there |
| Left-click with an empty hand | Clears the slot |
| Right-click with an empty hand | Removes 1 from the count |
| Keys 1-9 | Copies the item from that hotbar slot |
| Shift-click in your inventory | Copies it into the first free trade slot |
Per-trade settings
Click a trade's number, or any of its slots, to select it. The three fields at the bottom then edit that trade:
- Uses — how many times it can be traded before it runs dry until the next restock.
- Exp — experience the villager earns per trade.
- Price % — the demand-based price multiplier, in hundredths.
5is the vanilla default;0freezes the price entirely.
Apply to all copies those three values to all twelve trades at once. Clear empties the selected row, Clone copies it into the first free slot, and the arrows reorder it.
Keeping your shops intact
Vanilla Minecraft rewrites villager offers behind your back. Level-ups append the profession's stock trades, and a profession change throws the whole list away and regenerates it. Two switches stop that from ruining your work:
- Fixed — snapshots the trades and restores them if the game changes them. Normal wear like used-up trades and restocking is left alone.
- Immortal — the villager stops taking damage from mobs, players, fire, falls, drowning and explosions. Lightning will not turn it into a witch either, and protected wandering traders stop counting down to their despawn.
Protected villagers can still be removed with /kill or by hitting them in creative mode, so you are never stuck with one you cannot get rid of.
Copying a shop
Sneak + right-click a villager to copy its trades onto the wand, then sneak + right-click another one to paste them. Handy for rolling out the same shop across a market district. Sneak + use the wand in the air to empty the clipboard. The wand's tooltip shows what it is carrying.
DukerCoin
A gold coin item is included as a ready-made currency for the shops you build. It stacks to 64, has no recipe, and lives in the mod's creative tab.
/give @p villagertradeadmin:gold_coin
