The Device

A Forge 1.12.2 mod for RLCraft Dregora that adds a high-capacity XP storage item.

Overview

The Device is an enchanted, glowing tome that can hold up to 3 00 levels of experience. Hold it and crouch to store your XP, then use it again later to get that XP back. It's built for late-game players who have outgrown the 30-level XP Tome.

How it works

• Store XP: Hold The Device and crouch (Shift) + right-click. Your XP bar is stored inside the item.
• Withdraw XP: Hold The Device and right-click. All stored XP is added back to your XP bar.
• Capacity: The Device holds up to 358,470 XP points, which is exactly the cost of level 300. If you have more XP than fits, it takes only what fits and leaves the rest with you.
• Glow and tooltip: The Device glows while it holds XP. The tooltip shows how much is stored in both points and levels.

About levels and points

Minecraft's XP is measured in points, and each level costs more than the last. The Device stores points, not levels, so nothing is lost when you store or withdraw. This also means stored XP and newly earned XP add up as points. For example, if you store 10 levels and then earn 5 more from zero, withdrawing gives you about level 11, not level 15. This is how vanilla XP works, and it's the same reason two full 30-level XP Tomes give about level 39 instead of 60.

The Device

The XP Tome in the center must be completely full. A tome that isn't full won't work. All ingredients are used up when crafting.
