About this project
What does Chunks Fade In Extra add?
Description
This is a fork of Chunks Fade In released under GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 3.
It adds a sky occluder and improves upon some of the original mod's features:
- Sky occluder mainly fixes cases where the sun would be visible through the water at certain angles at the chunk edges.
- Chunk edge fading the original mod already does this, but it is incompatible with custom fog start values. If the fog starts much closer to the player it introduces a bug where sky/moon/stars may be visible through the ground. This fixes a bug similar #173 which caused the same problem but happened for different reasons. Now the edge chunk fading is always capped to span throughout the last chunk regardles of fog values.
- Sky fog blending now also covers entities and block entities. This is a subtle change as in 99% of the cases it will not be visible anyway as the entities will be culled long before they are covered in fog. It only applies in scenarios where you have a thick fog, very low render distance or cull distance of entities greatly increased or disabled.
Known issues
Clouds do not currently render behind fading chunk edges (might not be fixable without a major rewrite).
