NX Trinket
A Curios-based trinket mod: a speed belt, warrior charm, dragon guardian ring, and an endlessly upgradable Core of Myriad.
Quick answer
Which NX Trinket release should I use?
NX Trinket nx_trinkets-1.0.1.jar targets 1.20.1 with Forge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is NX Trinket required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does NX Trinket nx_trinkets-1.0.1.jar need?
nx_trinkets-1.0.1.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Curios API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does NX Trinket add?
NX Trinkets
A small, focused trinket mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge), built on the Curios API.
No new dimensions, no bloated tech trees — just a handful of accessories that make your character meaningfully stronger, and one trinket you will keep upgrading for the whole playthrough.
Requires Curios API 5.9.1+1.20.1 or newer.
Items
Speed Belt — belt slot
- +0.02 movement speed (roughly +20% walking speed)
- +15% damage
- Crafted from 5 leather + 1 emerald, and can also be found in village chests, dungeons, end cities and nether fortresses (5% each).
Warrior Charm — charm slot
- +3 attack damage
- +25% damage
- Found in dungeon, end city and nether fortress chests (5% each).
The Speed Belt and Warrior Charm damage bonuses stack additively (up to +40%).
Dragon Guardian Ring — ring slot
- On fatal damage, cancels death and revives you on the spot at 50% health.
- After each save, there is a 25% chance the ring shatters.
- The Totem of Undying takes priority — if a totem saves you, the ring is not consumed.
- Guaranteed drop from the Ender Dragon (the drop glows so you can spot it in the explosion).
Core of Myriad — core slot (new slot added by this mod)
- Granted automatically the first time you join a world (can be disabled in config).
- Grants 14 upgradeable stat lines — from max health and attack damage to knockback resistance and damage caps.
- Starts completely empty: you grow it by inscribing Origin Fragments onto it.
- Soulbound: it never drops on death, cannot be destroyed when dropped (immune to fire, lava, explosions, cactus, void — it teleports back to you if it falls out of the world), and never despawns.
- Can be removed and re-equipped at any time; it is not bound to you.
Awakened Core of Myriad — core slot
Once your inscription progress reaches 60% (configurable), inscribe it once more on an anvil to awaken it. The name stays the same; the icon, tooltip and effects change.
In addition to everything the base Core does, the awakened form gains:
- Inscription Power: bonus damage equal to inscription progress × 15%.
- +2 block and entity interaction range.
- Gravity-free arrows: your arrows fly perfectly straight, get a flat speed bonus, and expire after 15 seconds.
- Zombies, skeletons and creepers will not target you (all variants included).
Origin Fragment — inscription material
- Common / Rare / Legendary tiers, stackable to 64.
- Each fragment randomly rolls one stat line plus a value when it is created — stronger rolls are exponentially rarer.
- Obtained from mob kills and from any structure chest (30%):
- Common: any monster killed by a player (5%)
- Rare: max health ≥ 250 or attack ≥ 75
- Legendary: max health ≥ 750 or attack ≥ 75
- Warden / Wither / Ender Dragon always drop a Legendary fragment
The inscription loop (how to grow your Core)
- Put the Core in the left anvil slot, an Origin Fragment in the right.
- Take the result: costs 1 fragment + 10 XP levels (configurable).
- Only the better value is kept — identical or worse rolls produce no result and consume nothing (no accidental waste).
- Inscribe until the average progress across all 14 stat lines hits the awakening threshold, then inscribe once more to awaken it.
- The awakened Core keeps growing — it can still be inscribed afterwards.
Stats you can roll
| Stat line | Unit | Common | Rare | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Max health | +N | 1–12 | 16–30 | 24–50 |
| Max health | +N% | 1–10 | 10–24 | 20–50 |
| Attack damage | +N | 1–6 | 6–10 | 10–15 |
| Attack damage | +N% | 1–10 | 10–24 | 20–50 |
| Armor | +N | 1–6 | 6–14 | 12–24 |
| Armor | +N% | 1–10 | 10–24 | 16–40 |
| Attack speed | +N | 1–3 | 3–5 | 4–6 |
| Attack speed | +N% | 1–16 | 16–40 | 30–80 |
| Luck | +N | 1–8 | 8–20 | 16–48 |
| Luck | +N% | 1–10 | 10–24 | 20–50 |
| Knockback resistance | +N (0.1 steps) | 0.1–1.0 | — | — |
| Damage bonus | +N% | — | 20–50 | 50–100 |
| Max damage per hit | N | — | 150–300 | 45–130 |
| Max damage per hit | N% | — | 60–90 | 35–75 |
Damage caps are applied after armor and enchantment reduction, but before health is lost. The lower of the two caps wins. Void damage and /kill are deliberately exempt, so a capped player can never get stuck unkillable.
Configuration
config/nx_trinkets-core.toml
general— first-join grant on/off, anvil XP cost, Core tooltip flavour textawakening— enable/disable awakening, required progress (default 0.6), inscription power bonus (default 0.15)drops— player-kill requirement, all drop chances, HP/attack thresholds for Rare and Legendary, fixed Legendary mob list, blocklist
Notes
- Balance is intentionally high — this mod is meant for modpacks. You can still play it in vanilla, but expect the mid-game to get very easy.
- Stat tables live in the code (
CoreStat.java) and are not config-driven; the mod intentionally ships two tables — a "survival" table (default) and a stronger "design" table used when the companion modnx_trinkets_myriad_ringis present. - Client and server must both have the mod and Curios installed.
