About this project
What does Techy Techy Roles Core add?
Techy Techy Roles gives every player two picks. First, a playstyle with passives and two abilities. Then a subclass that only adds three passives. The two layers stack, so a Miner can also be Starworks, a Farmer can also be Bloomworks, and a Knight can also be Shieldworks.
On your first join, the chooser stays open until both picks are made. The playstyle screen is a metal plate. The subclass screen is a starry galaxy. Each role shows its abilities, a short description, and an impact of Low, Medium, or High. If you would rather not decide, choose **Surprise me** and the mod picks a role from that layer.
How to play
- **G** uses your primary ability.
- **H** uses your secondary ability.
- **K** opens your roles so you can read them again.
- Active abilities sit in a small tray beside the hotbar, with a wait timer while they recover.
- Passives stay on while you meet their condition. Some are always on. Others wait for night, rain, water, fire, moss, or a raised shield.
Keys can be changed in Controls, under Techy Techy Roles.
Playstyles
Fifteen playstyles. Each one has at least one passive, a primary ability on G, and a secondary ability on H.
- **Miner.** Haste while you mine, and night vision below Y 48. Bore breaks a 3 by 3 of stone or ore. Shaft digs a tunnel ahead.
- **Fighter.** Strength while a monster is close. Strike slams the ones around you. Lunge dashes into one.
- **Farmer.** Nearby seed crops grow slowly, and your steps do not trample farmland. Grow raises saplings, flowers, and seed crops. A ripe crop drops its harvest and stays planted. Till makes wet farmland.
- **Builder.** You place and use blocks from farther away. Lay places a 3 by 3. Bridge lays a line of the block in your hand.
- **Explorer.** You move quicker, step up a full block, and fall softer. Scout lights nearby creatures. Stride is a burst of speed and jump.
- **Lumberjack.** You cut wood faster. Fell drops a column of logs. Prune clears leaves.
- **Fisher.** Luck follows your line. Reel pulls in nearby drops. Lure helps you breathe and fish.
- **Hunter.** You move quicker. Mark lights a quarry. Snare slows monsters around you.
- **Smith.** Fire does not burn you. Temper repairs the tool in your hand. Quench puts the fire out.
- **Cook.** Hunger creeps back while you are not full. Serve fills your hunger. Hearth heals you.
- **Archer.** You reach farther. Loose hits the monster you look at. Pin slows and lights that quarry.
- **Knight.** You take less damage. Bash knocks monsters back. Bulwark hardens you for a short time.
- **Herder.** You step up a full block. Call brings animals toward you. Graze heals them and grows nearby crops.
- **Diver.** You breathe water and swim faster. Surge dashes along your look. Pearl lets you see and breathe for a while.
- **Brewer.** You slowly heal. Dose mends you further. Purge clears harmful effects.
Subclasses
Sixteen subclasses. None of them add a button ability. Each one gives three passives, and those passives are not copies of the playstyle bonuses.
- **Waterworks.** You hold your breath longer, mine faster underwater, and swing faster in water.
- **Aircraft.** You fall slowly, weigh less, and jump higher.
- **Earthworks.** You gain armor, knocks move you less, and rough ground slows you less.
- **Netherworks.** Fire burns you for less time. In the Nether you move faster and hit harder.
- **Endworks.** In the End you move faster, see in the dark, and fall slowly.
- **Spellworks.** Villagers trade better, experience orbs draw in, and a golden shell returns after it breaks.
- **Clockworks.** Haste at night, speed by day, and faster swings.
- **Railworks.** Sprinting is faster, sweeps hit harder, and your hits shove farther.
- **Stormworks.** Rain makes you faster and softens your falls. Thunder raises luck.
- **Bloomworks.** Grass, dirt, and farmland slowly heal you. Saturation creeps back. Meadows speed you up.
- **Glassworks.** You use creatures from farther away, tools mine faster, and sneaking lets you see in the dark.
- **Forgeworks.** While you are on fire you hit harder and move faster, and your armor is tougher.
- **Boneworks.** Two extra hearts, strength at night, and faster sneaking.
- **Starworks.** You see in the dark. At night, luck is higher and you fall slowly.
- **Mossworks.** On moss you move faster and mine faster. Sneaking cuts fall damage.
- **Shieldworks.** While blocking you resist damage, stand your ground, and gain a short absorption shell.
Choosing again
Craft a **Role Token** with a Nether Star in the middle and four gold ingots around it. It is also in the Techy Techy Roles creative tab. Right-click it to drop both roles and choose again. The token is used up.
Operators can also run:
/roles guiopens the chooser./roles cleardrops both roles./roles set apparatus minersets the playstyle./roles set practice starworkssets the subclass.
Use apparatus for the playstyle layer and practice for the subclass layer.
