About this project
What does Celerium add?
Description
Celerium ports the Nvidium terrain renderer to NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. It replaces Sodium's normal terrain-rendering path with Nvidium's NVIDIA mesh-shader pipeline on supported graphics cards.
This is an independent, unofficial compatibility port. It is not affiliated with or supported by Cortex, the original Nvidium author. Please do not report issues caused by this port to the original Nvidium project.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.x, tested with 21.1.248 and 21.1.250
- Sodium 0.6.13 for NeoForge; later Sodium releases are not supported by this file
- Java 21
- NVIDIA Turing-generation GPU or newer, such as GTX 16-series or RTX 20-series and newer
Compatibility
- Client-side only
- Iris may be installed, but Nvidium disables its renderer while an Iris shader pack is active, matching upstream behavior
- Other GPU vendors are not supported
- Install only one Nvidium implementation at a time
What this port changes
- Replaces Fabric loader integration with NeoForge integration
- Loads Nvidium shader resources through Sodium 0.6.13 on NeoForge
- Adds safer cleanup for shader compilation, reload, renderer teardown, and GPU timing queries
- Reduces duplicate vertex decoding and temporary allocation during chunk repackaging

This port is based on upstream commit c30249b and remains licensed under LGPL-3.0-only. The complete buildable source archive for each binary release is provided as an additional file with the suffix -full-source.zip.
Support scope
This release has been tested by entering and rendering a real world with the Nvidium renderer active, checking the F3 timing output, and exiting without shader, GPU-query, or tracked-resource errors. Because mod combinations vary, this release is marked Beta.
