About this project

What does Hardcore Extremo add?

Hardcore Extremo

One life. One team. A new death means a new world.

Hardcore Extremo turns Minecraft into a cooperative, attempt-based hardcore challenge. If one player dies, the attempt ends for the entire team. The mod records the attempt number, elapsed time and accumulated deaths before sending the group into a completely new world.

Defeat the Ender Dragon to break the curse. Once the team returns to the Overworld, the world becomes a normal survival world and the attempt system is disabled.

Main features

  • Shared team failure: one player's death ends the attempt for everyone.
  • Automatic transition into a completely new world after a failed attempt.
  • Persistent attempt number, timer and death statistics.
  • Custom death screen showing the cause of death and team statistics.
  • Victory sequence after the Ender Dragon finishes its death animation.
  • Three difficulty levels: Hard, Extreme and Impossible.
  • Additional hostile mob spawning in the Overworld and Nether on the higher levels.
  • Custom hostile and passive mob names, controlled by the host.
  • Three nameplate modes: Vanilla, Custom and Custom Fixed.
  • Original or custom death sounds, played sequentially or randomly.
  • Host synchronization for shared names and death audio.
  • Equipment durability HUD.
  • Player health and death counters in the multiplayer player list.
  • Cooperative location marker activated with the middle mouse button.
  • Delayed automatic tool selection to avoid accidental weapon switching during combat.
  • Saturation and extra-food indicator.
  • Compatible HUD rendering with and without OptiFine.

Difficulty modes

  • Hard: Minecraft's standard Hard difficulty.
  • Extreme: increased hostile groups and additional nearby spawning.
  • Impossible: aggressive and constant hostile pressure for coordinated teams looking for a serious challenge.

The enhanced spawning system affects the Overworld and the naturally spawning hostile mobs of the Nether. The End keeps its normal spawning behaviour.

Customization

Open:

Mods → Hardcore Extremo → Config

The host can select the shared mob names, nameplate behaviour, death sounds and playback order. Players may use the host configuration or select the original local options when available.

Custom names are loaded from editable text files. Custom death sounds use .ogg files placed inside the folder opened from the configuration screen.

Controls

  • Middle mouse button: place a temporary location marker visible to teammates.

  • /hardcoreextremo history — shows the history of previous attempts.
  • /hardcoreextremo players — shows the registered players and their death statistics.
  • /hardcoreextremo dificultad — shows the current Hardcore difficulty.
