About this project
What does Starfront [A Complete Space Odyssey] add?
Explore an entire galaxy, build your own ship and unravel the secret of the Ancients.
Starfront is a space exploration mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge). It works on its own, with no dependencies. It draws inspiration from Elite Dangerous, Outer Wilds and Star Citizen.

What you'll find in this mod :
8 star systems and around forty planets, each with its own terrain, biomes, sky and gravity: volcanic worlds, dune deserts, endless oceans, crystal moons, gas giants, ice worlds, giant mushroom forests… And more to come of course !
Seamless space: take off from a planet, watch it shrink beneath your feet, cross an asteroid field and enter another world's atmosphere, with no break in the view.
The generation of each planet is unique and features multiple different biomes, and to help you on your journey, sometimes giant cavern... well not that it's safe there...

Survival and progression :
Each world has its dangers: vacuum, heat, cold, toxic atmospheres and high gravity. You'll find what you need to stay alive by exploring.
Rare ores found only on certain worlds, the best are from the depths of dangerous planets.
A matter printer to install aboard your ship, allowing you to make essential tools and better gear.
A complete Stellar journal that fills up as you make discoveries: planets, resources, fauna, dangers, recipes and a progression guide.

Your own ship :
Build your ship block by block around a jump terminal, in any shape you like.
Sealed hull: air and gravity on board, decompression if the hull is breached.
Cruise flight across the system, atmospheric entry, low-altitude flight over planets thanks to the gravitic generator, and landing wherever you choose.
Hyperspace jumps between systems, with your whole crew on board.
Multiplayer: shared crew, on-board bunk, ships visible to other players.

Alien fauna :
Around fifteen creatures, each tied to its biome: Marchapod, Garoulou, Strisantine.... you'll figure out the rest yourself. (They will all get reworked to make them fully man-made, you wont have to make another world when the update comes out)
If you plan on building a base, please don't do it on a high danger rating planet, come on you can do better than that.
The mystery of the Ancients (Story for those who are interested) :
Obelisks of a vanished civilization are scattered across the galaxy. Gather their Interdimensional Keys to forge the Quantum Key, cross the event horizon of the [redacted] and discover the ultimate [redacted].
Compatibility :
Works without any other mod.
Optional Distant Horizons built-in support: long view distances on planets and in space.
Smooth transitions between worlds instead of the usual loading screens

How was this mod made : Gameplay, progression, system, story, music and more are all human made, and absolutely NO AI was used for those parts of the mod. However, it is important to clarify that AI was used to help make certain hud, as well as the math behind planets, notably the black hole, some of the model were initially drawn by the pixel art function of an AI, then manually remade (because it sucks), the inspiration sent for those was drawn by the team, no creation were stolen, and every part of the code is unique and does not infringe anyone. Some part of the code was assisted by AI due to us using it for debug and faster bug fix, while remaining our own, mainly the shader system, as the logic for it was extremely buggy when made by ourselves. AI is a tool, it can make very bad thing depending on who's using it. Please remind yourself to have fun and enjoy.
Will it stay like that ? : No, originally the mod was supposed to be a private project for a video, so now that I decided to release it to the public, me and my friends are actively working on fixing this stuff, by the time you're reading this, there might have been an update, entities should all be reworked, naming convention, ore, part of the HUD, and maybe some more texture, you'll have to readjust, but at least it'll be pure human slop.
Now stop reading and enjoy the mod !
Note that the mod is done and fully playable, but this remain a work in progress.*
