About this project

What does Load Engineering Cement add?

For Conatact:

Structures have to actually hold themselves up.

What changes is that every block in the world now has a weight.

THE RULE

Every sideways step spends one block of the span budget, and the budget is the smallest span of any block on the path. That is why a wide flat roof is the hard part of any build.

WHEN A BLOCK FAILS

Nothing falls the instant it is condemned. The block cracks first, the break overlay appears and a
warning sound plays. Reinforce it or prop it in time and the next solve lifts the condemnation.
Otherwise it becomes falling debris, which hurts what it lands on in proportion to fall distance and
weight, and destroys blocks too weak to take the impact, so a collapse eats its way down through a
building instead of stopping at the first floor.

MINING

Break a natural block and the rock touching the hole is disturbed. It stops anchoring itself and has
to hold itself up like anything else. Cut rock spans one block whatever it is made of, because
confinement was what let it carry and cutting into it is what takes the confinement away.

Normal mining stays safe. A proper hall is an engineering problem: narrow the corridor, grout the
roof, or leave pillars. Rock nobody has touched is never affected.

THE TWO ITEMS

Steel Ingot. The raw material. Two iron ingots and one coal, gives two.

Reinforcing Grout. A steel-fibre cement. It goes into a foundation, meaning a block carried by the
ground, and doubles both the span budget and the crushing load of everything that foundation holds
up. Grout a pier and the deck on it runs twice as far. Grout a plank of the deck and nothing happens,
because a plank is not carrying the bridge. The item refuses and is not consumed. The doubling does
not stack. It works on any solid block, including blocks from mods.
