About this project

What does EMC for Draconic Evolution add?

EMC for Draconic Evolution

Adds configurable ProjectE EMC values for Draconic Evolution items, including Draconium, Awakened Draconium, chaos materials, modules, equipment and machines. Version 0.1.1 adds an optional high-tier rebalance with higher progression prices.

This unofficial add-on targets Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge and Draconic Evolution only. Its mod-list name is Draconic EMC, mod ID draconic_emc.

Updated Awakened and chaos prices

With the rebalance enabled, our tested pack uses:

Material EMC
Awakened Draconium nugget 1,048,576
Awakened Draconium ingot or dust 9,437,184
Awakened Draconium block 84,934,656
Small chaos fragment 1,048,576
Medium chaos fragment 9,437,184
Large chaos fragment 84,934,656
Full chaos shard 764,411,904

The two minimum unit prices are configurable. Higher existing family prices can raise these numbers; existing positive prices are never lowered. Compression ratios remain exactly nine to one. The dragon heart and related Draconic cores, tools, chestpieces, modules and machines rise where supported native recipes propagate the material costs. Ordinary raw Draconium prices otherwise remain native.

Clean Draconic and Chaotic chestpieces cost 57,647,018 and 961,332,170 EMC, respectively, in the tested profile. Installed modules and stored energy are protected; a fully upgraded chestpiece is not reproduced with its upgrades. These prices are configurable progression choices, not a claim that Draconic and gem armour have identical combat mechanics.

What it does

  • Supplies an editable baseline catalog for missing Draconic item types.
  • Preserves existing positive EMC values with rebalance disabled. Explicitly enabling rebalance allows only higher Draconic values; other mods' stored mappings remain unchanged.
  • Generates reports showing preserved values, proposed assignments, sources, exclusions and previous/new rebalance prices.
  • Preserves explicit zero values and blacklists, except the four Draconium ores when overrideDraconiumOreBlocks is explicitly enabled.
  • When enabled, guards modified stacks against duplication of stored charge, modules, souls, bindings, inventories and unknown custom state.

The rebalance calculates a bounded copy of ProjectE's inspected native recipe graph and submits higher Draconic base values through ProjectE's mapping collector. It corrects the counted awakening and relay-crystal ingredients in that copy only, after checking the actual fusion recipes. Unknown/changed counted recipes, missing fusion mappings, invalid settings and calculation failures stop the add-on's assignments while retaining normal ProjectE mapping. This is a version-specific integration, not a universal fusion adapter. There is no similar-item fallback or whole-registry pricing in this add-on.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21.
  • NeoForge 21.1.250 tested; 21.1.250 or newer within the 21.1 series accepted, other versions untested.
  • ProjectE 1.1.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1.
  • Draconic Evolution 3.1.4.633 and its dependencies, including Brandon's Core and CodeChickenLib.
  • The optional high-tier rebalance additionally requires ProjectE Integration 8.3.1 and the matching inspected fusion/awakening mappings. Base missing-item assignments do not require it. Project Expansion is not required.

Forge, Fabric, other Minecraft versions and other ProjectE/Draconic Evolution versions are not supported by this release.

Installation and enabling the update

  1. Back up your world and test in a separate profile or server copy. Close Minecraft/the server.
  2. Install the requirements and put draconic-emc-0.1.1.jar in mods. Remove the earlier version from that copy; keep only one version. Do not combine it with the earlier Guarded EMC add-on.
  3. Start and join once to generate config/draconic-emc/settings.json and reports. New installations default to report-only (enabled: false), rebalance off and ore overrides off.
  4. To preview the updated high-tier values, add "rebalanceHighTierPrices": true to your existing settings, keeping "enabled": false. Keep your custom prices and exclusions; do not replace them with an example configuration.
  5. Restart/join and review config/draconic-emc/report.txt or report.json. After a successful report, close Minecraft/the server, set "enabled": true, and restart/join.
  6. To price the four normally excluded Draconium ores, separately set "overrideDraconiumOreBlocks": true. This deliberately overrides those pack safeguards and needs the pack/server owner's review.

Replacing the JAR alone does not enable the rebalance. The prices map supplies missing-item baselines; it does not override positive existing prices. The rebalance floors are minimumAwakenedNuggetEmc and minimumSmallChaosFragmentEmc, both defaulting to 1,048,576.

For singleplayer, install it in the playing profile, which hosts the integrated server. For multiplayer, the server owner must install and configure it. This add-on adds no items, blocks or custom packets, so remote clients do not require it by implementation; joining without it on the client remains untested. Client-only installation cannot change another server's economy.

Safeguards, validation and limitations

Coverage means clean item types, not every possible variant. Charged, filled, enchanted, damaged, bound, upgraded or unknown modified stacks remain untransmutable when the guard is enabled. Empty equipment initialization is allowed only when ProjectE strips that metadata from the persistent key. ProjectE may prune now-unpriced learned variants normally.

Six unit tests passed. Isolated full-pack dedicated-server tests covered report-only calculation, enabled assignment and restart. With the tested enabled profile and ore overrides, all 179 registered Draconic item types had EMC: 77 existing Draconic values increased, 82 stayed unchanged and 20 missing catalog prices were added. Comparison of 20,331 existing stored mappings found no unexpected changes. All 179 base prices matched after restart; charged/module-bearing and unknown modified stacks stayed protected. Other packs depend on their recipes, mappings and exclusions.

Graphical client gameplay, integrated singleplayer, remote client joins, actual energy-I/O charging and real-owner player-data persistence remain untested for this add-on. It does not directly edit ProjectE configurations, balances, learned knowledge or world files; it writes only its own settings and reports.

The catalog includes finite prices for creative capacitors and a technical structure block, which can bypass progression. Ore prices can introduce fortune or processing loops. Fusion energy is excluded from recipe EMC costs. Cross-mod processing and cheaper preserved values can create arbitrage. Assigning every item a number cannot guarantee balanced or exploit-free transmutation. Review the report before adopting the changes in a shared economy.

A separate confirmed compatibility issue between ProjectE Integration 8.3.1 and Ice and Fire 2.1.3 can abort native Dragon Forge mapping. This add-on does not fix that mismatch. The private validation copy used a separate compatibility helper, not included in this download. No claim is made about the cause of another server's AutoEMC failure.

Rollback and support

To disable only the rebalance, stop Minecraft/the server, set rebalanceHighTierPrices to false and restart/join. To disable all assignments and the guard, set enabled to false or remove the JAR and restart/join. Normal ProjectE mapping recalculates. This cannot undo completed transmutation transactions; restore your backup for an exact economy rollback. Do not delete ProjectE player data.
