About this project
What does Ballistic Frontiers add?
Ballistic Frontiers
Ballistic Frontiers is a military mod for Minecraft, featuring modern vehicles, weapons, and interconnected combat systems. Command tanks and aircraft, scout with drones, defend positions with air defense, and coordinate multiplayer operations.
Vehicles and Weapons
- Tanks and ground vehicles: driving, rotating turrets, aiming sights, different ammunition types, fuel consumption, and damage.
- Aircraft and helicopters: controlled flight, missiles, bombs, animated moving parts, and retractable landing gear on aircraft.
- Artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and mortars: dedicated ammunition, firing ranges, dispersion, and projectile trajectories.
- Missile systems: ballistic and cruise missiles, anti-tank launchers, RPGs, and ground launch platforms.
- Firearms: weapons from NATO, the USSR, and China, with compatible ammunition, reloading, and customizable crosshairs. Gunfire can damage and shoot down drones.
Drones and Reconnaissance
The mod includes strike, reconnaissance, and FPV drones. Reconnaissance drones can orbit a designated location while operators observe the terrain through onboard cameras. FPV drones are piloted using a controller and support different payloads and remote detonation. Heavier payloads reduce speed and maneuverability while increasing battery consumption.
Operator-controlled unmanned ground vehicles and naval drones are also available.
Air Defense, Radar, and Electronic Warfare
Air defense systems detect and track airborne targets, then launch interceptors. Interception depends on the system’s capabilities and the target type.
Radars display terrain and airborne contacts on maps with 3D terrain views. Electronic warfare stations generate interference, degrade camera feeds, and can cause drones to lose control. Their operating modes offer different interference strengths and energy consumption rates.
Equipment and Multiplayer
Build defensive positions with mines, tripwires, barbed wire, sandbags, steel anti-tank obstacles, ammunition crates, and weapon racks.
Players can form brigades and share target information. The in-game Ballistic Frontiers Handbook explains how equipment works and displays crafting recipes.
Vehicles and items feature dedicated 3D models, textures, sounds, and animations. Real-world equipment inspires their appearance and specifications, while gameplay mechanics are adapted to Minecraft.
