FFDeathRules
Makes death configurable per server, player, team, permission, etc. Allows for more granular control over items, experience, and more!
Quick answer
Which FFDeathRules release should I use?
ffdeathrules-0.3.1+26.3-fabric.jar targets 26.3 with Fabric. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is FFDeathRules required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does ffdeathrules-0.3.1+26.3-fabric.jar need?
ffdeathrules-0.3.1+26.3-fabric.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does FFDeathRules add?
FFDeathRules
Give death a little more fine print. Keep a favorite kit, trim the clutter, recover a fair share of XP, and decide who hears about your unfortunate lava encounter.

How it works
- Choose whether deaths keep the full inventory, just the hotbar, nothing, or follow the world's usual rules.
- Keep or discard selected items and item tags, with separate armor and offhand settings.
- Choose how much XP drops, survives respawn, or is lost. Recoverable XP can become bottles with an exact value.
- Customize death messages and their audience, or send players a private reminder of their death location.
- Apply different rules to permission groups, scoreboard teams and individual players. Defaults preserve vanilla behavior until you change them.
Curse of Vanishing takes priority when items would normally be lost. Curse of Binding stays on any equipment you retain.
Configuration
You can adjust:
- Inventory retention, item filters, durability penalties and pickup ownership
- XP loss, retention and bottle recovery
- Death-message text, audience, nearby range and private coordinates
- Permission, team and player overrides
Operators can use /deathrules to inspect and change rules immediately. Command changes save with the world and survive restarts. Click the Wiki link in the sidebar for configuration and command examples.
Mod compatibility
FFUtilities is bundled and needs no separate download. Team and permission mods can integrate through the modding API; there are no automatic third-party integrations. Mods that manage graves or replace death drops may need an integration to avoid overlapping rules. Extra accessory inventories are managed by their owning mods.
Version differences
FFDeathRules works the same on every supported version and loader.
For datapack makers
Add items to the keep-on-death and discard-on-death tags, or use your own item tags in filters. Tag changes apply after a datapack reload. Click the Wiki link in the sidebar and open the Datapacks page for details.
For mod developers
Supply live team or permission rules through partial rule providers, bridge permission nodes, or save persistent player and team overrides. Click the Wiki link in the sidebar for the API guide and examples.
What's with the FF prefix?
It stands for Fyxe's Features! It's a clean way to easily find all of my mods when changing configs or creating packs. Mods that are a part of the "FF" system are usually smaller and unintrusive.
