About this project
What does Speed Readout add?
Speed Readout displays your travel speed as plain Minecraft text.
Measures horizontal and vertical movement while walking, sprinting, swimming, falling, flying with an elytra, or riding minecarts and boats. Most modded vehicles and movement should also work, provided they update your world position normally.
Features:
- Current speed, 5-second, 30-second and 1-minute averages, and peak speed
- Units: m/s, km/h or mph, with 0–2 decimal places
- Individual reading toggles and twelve placement presets, including hotbar positions
- Adjustable text size, color, offsets and optional background
- Rebindable visibility toggle, K by default, and optional reset hotkey
- Optional visibility while using supported Create or Aeronautics controls
- Optional indicator showing the active measurement source.
Optional Sable integration provides simulation-speed readings aboard compatible vehicles, including Create: Aeronautics ships. Create: Coasters Simulated is expected to work through the same integration, but has not been separately tested.
Lag handling preserves valid history and marks stale readings or incomplete averages. Detected player teleports and server corrections are excluded from travel distance.
Configure through Mods > Speed Readout > Config. Leave Only while controlling off for general travel.
Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge 21.1.x. Client only; no additional mods required.
