About this project

What does Warium Frames add?

The Warium Frames (aka Warframes) mod adds an extensive list of building blocks to the game designed to work in Warium's ecosystem.

These frame blocks work in the same way as many other popular framed block and copycat mods, where they will mimic or copy the texture of a block applied to them. This allows for extremely decorative builds while keeping the style of Warium.

What separates this mod from the others is that it was built specifically to complement Warium - by adding framed versions of Warium's wing, stabilizer, and control surface blocks - among others. In addition, it adds different shapes to choose from for these blocks, allowing for more creative & detailed builds.

This mod adds two main classes of frame blocks:

Airframe blocks - lightweight blocks made from Warium's aluminum. These blocks have the same hardness, resistance, and mass as Warium's aluminum plating blocks, and are ideal for building lightweight aircraft.

Heavyframe blocks - heavy blocks made from Warium's steel. These blocks have the same hardness, resistance, and mass as Warium's steel armor blocks, and are ideal for building armored land and sea vehicles.

In addition to the decorave shapes, this mod also adds framed versions of Warium's functional blocks such as wing blocks that provide lift, stabilizer blocks that provide stability, control surfaces that provide pitch, yaw, and roll control, airbrake blocks to slow vehicles down, radiator blocks to cool vehicles off, chaff & flare countermeasure launchers, landing gear bays, and more.

The mod adds a wrench tool that can be used to remove textures from the Warframes blocks. The wrench can also be used to cycle through alternate block models for some of the blocks. Pay attention to the tooltips on blocks - that will indicate which blocks can be modified with the wrench.

This mod offers two different server configuration options:

consumeMimickedBlocks (true by default)

When false, blocks are not consumed when placing them in an Airframe or Heavyframe block. When true, blocks are consumed in the same way as Copycats and FramedBlocks mod. This also affects removal of the mimicked block from the Warframes blocks.

IMPORTANT: Changing this configuration option on a pre-existing world can cause duplication or loss of blocks. It is best to set the config options at world creation.

restrictMimickedBlocks (false by default)

When true, only certain blocks can be placed into an Airframe or Heavyframe block. When false, any block can be placed.

The true option uses a whitelist to determine which blocks are accepted. Warium's aluminum plating blocks and Warium's steel plating blocks are on the whitelist by default.

Planned Future additions

  • Quarter Panel Block (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Short Panel Block (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Pane Block (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Fence Block (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Bomb Bay Doors (airframe)
  • VLS Door (heavyframe)
  • RCS Thruster (airframe)
  • Encased Rotorshaft (airframe)
  • Double Chest (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Sign (airframe/heavyframe)
  • Steel Optic (heavyframe)
  • ERA block variants (heavyframe)
  • Rudder (heavyframe)
  • Hydroplane (heavyframe)
  • Keel/Bilge Keel (heavyframe)
  • Slab machine guns/potentially an autocannon - for WWII fighter builds - this will likely be a limited block set if added
  • Sloped Variants - I like slopes, but there are many people who do not think they belong in minecraft. I will likely keep them as a separate addon.

Known Bugs

  • Stacked half-layers were a late addition to this mod and are buggy when placed. Removing layers is also buggy. It shouldn't be anything game-breaking, just visual.
  • VMod schematics don't save textures in Warframe blocks when pasted. I think this is on the VMod side

This is my first ever Minecraft mod, and I have spent several months working on this. Please provide any feedback - good or bad.

Special Thanks

Novum - Without Warium, this mod would not exist. Thank you for the technical support when building this mod.

KindaVibey - The texture copying feature of this mod is heavily based off what was created by Vibey. All credit goes to him for this feature.

Longy - For creating the awesome textures used by this mod, and for the creative feedback throughout the process.
