Mob Mashing Cubes

Turn mob farming into a single block. Mob Mashing Cubes uses voodoo dolls and environment blocks to generate mob loot without spawning or killing world entities. A miniature mob inside the cage shows what your cube is currently mashing.

Getting started

1. Craft an "Inactive Mob Mashing Cube" with eight iron chains surrounding an ender pearl.
2. Surround the inactive cube with "eight oak logs" to make a Wood Mob Mashing Cube.
3. Place your cube, then insert a voodoo doll and its matching environment block into their separate slots.
4. Collect the drops from the output inventory, or automate extraction.

The doll and environment block are reusable. When the output inventory fills, the cube pauses and retains its pending loot until there is room.

Choose your environment

• Overworld Doll + Dirt or Grass Block: zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, endermen, witches, and slimes. Available from Wood tier.
• Animal Doll + Farmland: cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and rabbits. Available from Wood tier.
• Nether Doll + Netherrack or Soul Sand: Nether mobs including blazes, ghasts, hoglins, and wither skeletons. Requires Iron tier or higher.
• End Doll + End Stone: endermen and shulkers. Requires Diamond tier or higher.
• Ancient City Doll + Sculk: Warden loot. Requires Netherite tier and enabled special environments.

Need farmland for your Animal Doll? Craft **one dirt block with any hoe**. The recipe produces farmland and returns the hoe with one durability used; an exhausted hoe breaks.

Upgrade your farm

Progress through Wood → Stone → Iron → Gold → Diamond → Netherite. Surround the previous cube with eight cobblestone, iron ingots, gold ingots, diamonds, or netherite ingots for the next upgrade.

Higher tiers offer faster cycles, more usable output slots, and eventually higher Looting. Default cycle times range from 20 seconds for Wood to 2 seconds for Netherite, with up to 25 output slots.

Watch the mash

Each tier has its own cube texture, and every doll has matching voodoo artwork. Bright miniature mobs rotate inside the cage and play mob-specific mashing animations with a cosmetic fire effect. The custom interface separates the doll, environment block, and output inventory, while showing the target mob, progress, and machine status.

Optional Apotheosis integration

With Apotheosis installed, cubes support applicable gem and affix loot modifiers, plus configurable bonus rolls for affix weapons and armor. Equipment receives enchantment rolls that grow stronger at higher active world tiers.

Progression follows the highest active world tier among online players. When nobody is online, it uses the last disconnected player's saved tier and luck for the current server session. Production requires loaded, ticking chunks; cubes do not load chunks themselves.

Affix equipment drops trigger a rarity-colored jackpot celebration with particles, a chime, and an output-panel highlight. Apotheosis is optional—the core mob farming works without it.

Automation and customization

Insert configuration items from the top and extract loot from the sides or bottom. Configure cycle times, output capacity, Looting, equipment bonus chances, particles, sounds, and special environments. Datapacks can customize mob pools, selection weights, environment blocks, and loot-table overrides. Optional JEI integration displays cube environments.
