About this project

What does Refined Tweaks add?

Refined Tweaks

Small vanilla-plus improvements, each one switchable. Install it on the server only: players can join with an unmodded client.

Refined Tweaks bundles the quality-of-life features people usually install one mod or datapack at a time: right-click harvesting, double doors, sitting on stairs, mob heads, anti-grief and more. Each feature is a module you can turn on or off in the config file or in game with a command.

Why Refined Tweaks?

  • ✅ Server-side only. Nothing to install on the client. Vanilla players can join.
  • ✅ Every feature can be toggled. /rt enable <module> and /rt disable <module> apply instantly, with no restart.
  • ✅ Built for modpacks. If a mod that does the same job is installed (for example Right Click Harvest), the matching module turns itself off. Two features never fight over the same click.
  • ✅ No dependencies. No config library and no Architectury. Fabric only needs Fabric API.
  • ✅ Fabric and NeoForge on 26.3, 26.2, 26.1, 1.21.11 and 1.21.1, all from one codebase.
  • ✅ No mods allowed? The Datapack Lite edition has 7 of the features for vanilla, Realms and any server.
  • ✅ Lightweight. No new blocks, items or entities, so it is safe to add to or remove from an existing world.

Command Permission
/rt list op Lists every module with its state (and conflicts)
/rt enable <module> / /rt disable <module> op Toggles a module and saves the config
/rt option <module> <option> [value] op Shows or changes a module option live (e.g. /rt option afk_display afkSeconds 120)
/rt reload op Reloads config/refinedtweaks.json
/rt hud everyone Toggles the coordinates display for yourself

/refinedtweaks works too.

Configuration

config/refinedtweaks.json is created on first launch. Each module has an enabled flag and its own options, such as the head drop chance or the leaf decay delay. New modules added by updates show up automatically, and your settings are kept.

Modpacks

Yes, you can use it in your modpack. No need to ask, the license is MIT. A link back is appreciated.

Modpack makers' checklist:

  • disable whatever overlaps with other mods in your pack (/rt list shows detected conflicts);
  • ship your config/refinedtweaks.json in the pack.

FAQ

Do players need to install it? No. Every feature runs on the server. A modded client also gets translated texts (English and French); a vanilla client sees English.

Does it work in singleplayer? Yes. Just install it like any other mod.

I already use mod X for feature Y. Disable the module, or let auto-detection do it when the mod is known.

Can I add or remove it from an existing world? Yes. It adds no blocks or items to your world.

How safe is the death chest? Only the owner and server operators can open or break it. Explosions and vanilla hoppers can't touch it, and it removes itself once it is empty. It doesn't protect against pipes from other mods, or against the Wither and the Ender Dragon. Use a claim mod if you need that.
