About this project
What does Knickknackery add?
Knickknackery
Accessories you can wear in Curios slots, Terraria style. Each one does something on its own, and two finished accessories combine at a crafting table into the next tier, progressing the item and making you more powerful.
The movement tree (feet slot)
- Swiftstride Boots: +12.5% speed. Found in dungeons, temples and mineshafts, or crafted.
- Rocket Boots: hold jump in the air for a burst of lift. Crafted with plenty of gunpowder.
- Ice Skates: water under your feet freezes, like Frost Walker. Found in igloos and other icy places, or crafted.
- Lava Waders: lava under your feet cools into a crust you can walk on, and you're immune to fire. Found in bastion treasure rooms, or crafted with Nether materials.
- Spectral Boots = Swiftstride + Rocket: +15% speed and flight.
- Stormstride Boots = Spectral + lightning rod, phantom membrane, diamond: +20% speed, longer flight.
- Frostspark Boots = Stormstride + Ice Skates: +22.5% speed, flight, frost walking.
- Elemental Treads = Frostspark + Lava Waders + netherite scrap: everything at once.
The fighter gloves (two hands slots)
- Breeze Knuckles: faster attacks, and fully charged hits blast enemies away. Crafted from breeze rods and a wind charge.
- Fletcher's Glove: bows draw and crossbows reload faster, and some shots don't use an arrow. Found in pillager outposts and trial chamber vaults.
- Brute Bracer: extra axe damage, and any hit knocks a raised shield down. Dropped by piglin brutes, found in bastions.
- Galeshot Gauntlet = Knuckles + Glove: your arrows burst like a wind charge where they land.
- Tempest Gauntlet = Galeshot + heart of the sea: fully drawn shots call lightning.
- Stormbrute Gauntlet = Tempest + Brute Bracer + netherite scrap: all of it in one glove.
- Witherclasp Gauntlet = Stormbrute + nether star + wither skeleton skull: everything stronger, plus withering hits, life steal and Wither immunity.
The worker gloves (same hands slots)
- Spider Grips: walk into a wall to climb it. Made from Silk Glands, dropped by cave spiders.
- Cragclimber Claws = Spider Grips + goat horn: faster climbing, and wall jumps to bounce up shafts.
- Prospector's Mitts: faster mining. Builder's Glove: longer reach and quick block placing. Farmer's Glove: right-click crops to harvest and replant, and help young crops, saplings and baby animals grow.
- Tinker's Gloves = Prospector's + Builder's + Farmer's + diamond: all three, farming a 3x3 area.
- Blazeforge Mitts: mined blocks drop smelted (sneak to keep them raw). Piglin's Gilded Glove: sneak and stand still to see nearby ores glow through walls. Bartered from piglins or found in bastions.
- Crucible Gloves = Blazeforge + Gilded Glove + netherite scrap: auto-smelt and ore sense together.
- Netherforged Grips = Cragclimber + Tinker's + Crucible + netherite scrap: every worker ability in one pair.
Looks the part: every accessory has its own 3D model, shown in your inventory and on your legs while worn. Worn boots replace the look of armor boots; hide them with the Curios slot's eye toggle to show your armor.
Recipes: shapeless, at a normal crafting table. JEI shows the whole tree.
Achievements: a Knickknackery advancements tab. Collect 5, 10, 20 and finally every accessory, finish each crafting tree, and wear a full set at once.
Config: most abilities can be turned off or scaled in the server config, and the look of worn accessories in the client config (or from the Mods list).
More accessory trees are on the way…
