About this project
What does Crystalbound add?
Crystalbound is an Origins-inspired mod that lets you build your own combination of powers. Discover 50+ crystals and equip up to three at once, mixing combat abilities, movement powers, and useful passives to suit how you play.
Walk on walls with Gravity, fly on magical platforms with Aether, summon undead companions with Grave, or catch incoming projectiles with Orbit. Other crystals help you farm, find ores, heal nearby creatures, build bridges, and more.
Crystals have four ratings: Low, Medium, High, and Extreme. Powerful crystals can come with significant downsides, so choosing your combination matters. You can equip one Extreme crystal at a time.
Discover your powers
Most crystals are crafted using an Unbound Crystal and themed ingredients. The built-in Crystal Codex helps you uncover recipes through exploration: discovering a material reveals its place and quantity in a recipe, while unknown ingredients offer hints. Ability details become available as you unlock crystals.
Extreme crystals are earned through special trials and evolutions. These challenges offer some of the mod’s most powerful abilities, including freezing time, creating a spreading root network, and forming clones into a helicopter.
Change your build
Use a Severance Shard to remove a crystal and recover it. You can also shatter an equipped crystal without a shard, but doing so destroys it and applies a temporary penalty that grows with repeated use.
Default controls
- H: Open the crystal equipment menu
- J: Open the Crystal Codex
- Z / X / C: Activate your three crystal slots
All controls can be rebound.
