About this project

What does SP Economy add?

  • /spcoins: show your wallet balance.
  • /spcoinedit: Creative + cheats/operator graphical editor for mob/block rewards, Physical/Direct delivery and Auto/On/Off notifications.
  • sp_coins:spcoin: one coin item = one SPCoin, stack size 64. Hopper and chest storage work normally; player inventory/cursor coins are automatically redeemed.
  • The legacy sp_shop:spcoin item is also registered and redeemed, preserving existing world items even without SP Shop.
  • Physical rewards above 4096 use Direct to limit entities. Block rewards are opt-in. Ordinary player placement tracking, correct-tool checks and Creative exclusions are preserved.
  • Auto notification integration supports SP VitalView; otherwise SP Coins draws its own +X notice. On forces ours, Off hides ours. Disabled/incompatible foreign feeds fall back in Auto.

Existing worlds

The wallet and placement records live in sp-coins.json in each world; reward settings live in config/sp-coins/settings.json. On first use, if that file does not exist, SP Coins reads balances, reward settings and tracked placements from sp-shop.json, validates them, saves a backup sp-shop.pre-sp-coins.json, and creates the independent wallet file. Subsequent starts use only the wallet file and never reimport the old balances. Corrupt data stops loading rather than resetting money.

Wallet writes use temporary-file replacement. Ordinary API/effect failures roll back in memory and invoke caller rollback. Minecraft inventories and other mods' files remain separate saves: abrupt process/machine crashes are not a cross-file atomic transaction. Placement detection is not a universal natural-block detector; piston movement and placements by other mods may bypass it.

Settings access

/spcoinedit requires both Creative mode and game-master command permission (cheats enabled in singleplayer, or operator permission on a server). Survival, Adventure and Spectator players cannot open or save economy settings, even if they have operator permission. /spcoins remains available to all players.

Shared settings and world data

Settings are shared by all worlds within the same Minecraft installation/server:

  • SP Coins: config/sp-coins/settings.json — reward rules, chances, amounts, delivery and notifications.

Use Save globally in the editor. On multiplayer servers, these files belong to the server, not the connecting player's client. Separate Minecraft profiles/servers have separate config directories. To copy settings to another installation, copy these settings files with the game/server stopped.

Wallets, acquired ability grants/timers, per-player disabled abilities and placed-block records stay in each world's sp-coins.json / sp-shop.json. They are never copied into shared settings. Ordinary world saves do not overwrite shared configuration.

On the first launch after upgrading, open the existing world whose settings you want to keep: its settings seed the shared file if none exists. Later worlds use the shared file without replacing it. Original world files are preserved as *.json.pre-shared-settings.bak during migration. Invalid shared settings stop loading rather than resetting them.
