About this project

What does Wildborne add?

🌿 WILDBORNE

Where the wilderness comes alive.

A living wilderness. Forgotten creatures. Ancient secrets.

What if the forests of Minecraft were hiding more than just trees and animals?

Wildborne is a nature-focused Minecraft mod that introduces extraordinary wildlife, mysterious woodland communities, and creatures shaped by the environments they inhabit.

Deer vanish beneath the earth when frightened. Tiny wooden beings disguise themselves as ordinary logs. Strange creatures emerge with the rain, while forgotten guardians remain hidden within the natural world.

Each creature has its own instincts, behaviors, and relationship with the environment. Some are peaceful, others are curious, and a few might be better left undisturbed.

Look closer. The wilderness has been alive all along.

🌲 A Wilderness That Feels Alive

Wildborne is built around a simple philosophy: creatures should feel like a natural part of Minecraft, not just additions to it.

Its inhabitants react to danger, seek shelter, interact with one another, and use their surroundings to survive. Discoveries may happen on peaceful walks, in quiet woodland communities, or when the weather changes.

🍃 Discover the Wildlife

🦌 Burrowing Deer

Gentle woodland animals with an extraordinary survival instinct. When threatened, they dig beneath the ground, leaving only their branch-like antlers visible. Once danger passes, they cautiously check their surroundings before emerging.

They are especially common in Dappled Forests.

🐌 Lantern Snail

A small woodland creature carrying a soft, mysterious glow. It favors humid forests, shaded vegetation, and rainy conditions. When threatened, it retreats into its shell, blending into the forest floor.

It can also be discovered in Dappled Forests.

🌧️ Rain Walker — Peregrino Pluvial

An enigmatic wanderer closely connected to rainfall. Its elongated body, vegetation-covered appearance, and unusual movements give it the presence of something ancient and almost forgotten.

Rain changes the wilderness, and sometimes it brings unexpected visitors.

🦇 Deep Dark Bat

Far beneath the surface lives an unusual inhabitant of the darkness. With its eerie, soul-like glow and distinctive appearance, this mysterious bat brings another form of life to Minecraft's deepest environments.

🪵 The Living Stumps

Not every log is just a log.

Hidden throughout the wilderness are the Living Stumps, small wooden beings formed from bark, roots, vegetation, and a touch of ancient magic.

They have their own personalities, occupations, instincts, and woodland traditions. Some live together around secluded ritual sites, while others wander far from home.

🌿 Meet the Woodland Community

🌱 Stump Villager

A curious and peaceful woodland inhabitant that socializes with its companions and helps bring the community to life.

Stump Villager — Wildborne

🧺 Stump Gatherer

A resourceful forager that collects natural materials, travels through the forest, and trades seeds, saplings, and other goods with players.

🪓 Stump Artisan

✨ Stump Elder

🛡️ Stump Guardian

A courageous protector that defends its community from hostile creatures.

🧭 Stump Explorer

An adventurous traveler that ventures beyond the safety of the community and watches for potential threats.

🥀 Corrupted Stump

A darker, unsettling relative whose presence contrasts with the peaceful woodland inhabitants.

Corrupted Stump — Wildborne

🌳 Masters of Camouflage

Living Stumps can disguise themselves as wooden blocks. In their hidden form, their bodies resist ordinary damage. Some may even gather and stack together, resembling small trees.

The forest might appear perfectly still, but its inhabitants could be watching.

⚔️ Small Creatures, Brave Hearts

Gatherers and Explorers can summon wooden swords when danger approaches, revealing a touch of hidden magic. Guardians protect their companions, while peaceful inhabitants rely on their instincts and camouflage. They avoid unnecessary conflicts with Creepers.

💚 Trading With the Gatherers

Stump Gatherers can trade with players through a familiar villager-style interface, exchanging natural resources such as seeds, saplings, and emeralds. Their supplies are limited but replenish over time.

🔥 Forgotten Woodland Rituals

Deep within certain forests, travelers may discover rare gathering places belonging to the Living Stumps, with a central ritual tree, a campfire, and a small community of wooden inhabitants.

When the sun approaches its highest point, the Stumps gather around the fire for a mysterious midday ritual.

Some secrets of the forest are best discovered by simply watching.

🌧️ Nature Shapes Its Inhabitants

  • Weather-dependent encounters: Certain creatures are closely tied to rainfall and changing conditions.
  • Natural camouflage: Wildlife hides beneath soil, inside shells, or among wooden blocks.
  • Living communities: Woodland inhabitants trade, protect one another, and share traditions.
  • Biome-specific wildlife: Different environments influence the creatures players encounter.
  • Defensive instincts: Creatures survive through hiding, escaping, and protecting themselves.
  • Unusual discoveries: Exploration can reveal rare structures and mysterious encounters.

In Wildborne, nature is not simply a backdrop. It is part of the experience.

🌱 Ancient and Unusual Beings

Beyond peaceful wildlife, Wildborne also explores the stranger side of nature.

🔥 Tiznacuache

A peculiar creature inspired by nocturnal wildlife, with an unusual fascination for embers. It defends itself with its expressive tail and can even play dead when threatened.

🌿 Bastion of Sprout

An ancient beast-like guardian connected to the elemental forces of nature. Its transformations between solid, liquid, and gaseous forms reflect the changing states of the natural world.

Development note: The Tiznacuache and Bastion currently have their natural spawning disabled while their encounters and gameplay are being refined.

✨ What Makes Wildborne Special?

  • Original Minecraft-style creatures inspired by nature, folklore, and organic fantasy.
  • Unique animations that express each creature's personality and behavior.
  • Survival instincts including burrowing, camouflage, and defensive reactions.
  • Living woodland communities with distinct professions and relationships.
  • Natural encounters shaped by biomes, weather, and environmental conditions.
  • Woodland rituals and rare structures that reward exploration.
  • Trading and interactions with friendly forest inhabitants.
  • A dedicated creative inventory tab with Wildborne items, blocks, and spawn eggs.
  • A Vanilla-inspired look with bark, roots, moss, vegetation, and subtle magic.

🌍 A World That Continues to Grow

Wildborne is an evolving project with a long-term vision: to transform Minecraft's wilderness into a more reactive, mysterious, and interconnected ecosystem.

Future updates aim to deepen creature relationships, expand environmental mechanics, and introduce new discoveries. Your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports help shape the future of the mod.
