About this project

What does Create:PLC add?

This is a PLC mod or in simple terms a Computer mod , it is mainly for use with create machinery but i have managed to not need it as a dependency,

the goal for this project was to build an alternative to Computercraft with a safe LUA interpreter and address a lot of the concerns from a lot of modpack devs

The mod is extremely light and you shouldn't see any noticeable performance difference

it makes extensive use of blockstate and nbt reading and writing which further reduces server load and makes it more performant especially around redstone signals, it also allows a lot of interesting features you can't normally do with computercraft for example setting filter values on things with item filters,

to address issues modpack devs have raised with computercraft and related mods:

  • it keeps programs stored in world data and limited per program to 32 kb which is the nbt limit , there is no reading or writing to the disk

  • it does not nave any network capability and cannot upload or download files

  • claim compatibility is a work in progress as well is player locking

  • the LUA interpreter is written from scratch and intentionally limited to stay within the scope of the project

This mod is in a beta phase and feedback from testing is welcome, it's a very complicated mod so bugs will do what bugs do
