Features

Tabs & Organization

  • Custom tabs with flexible matching: keywords, regex, sender names, channels, and whole-word options
  • Right-click any tab for quick actions: open, edit, mute, or clear its history
  • Unread badges and tab flashing so nothing slips by
  • Per-tab history and scroll positions — switching tabs puts you right back where you were
  • Profiles & presets — swap entire tab layouts per server or playstyle
  • Tab bar attaches to the screen edge or hugs the chat window on any side, including a vertical column

Multi-Window Chat

  • Move chat anywhere — multiple fully independent windows, not just the vanilla box
  • Visual Layout Editor — drag, drop, and resize every window on screen with focused/unfocused outlines, no config files or guesswork
  • Per-window focused & unfocused sizes — windows expand when selected and shrink back out of the way
  • Click-to-focus scrolling — the window you last clicked is the one that scrolls, with independent scroll state per window
  • Full link support in every window — clickable URLs, commands, item hovers, and player tooltips

Alerts & Mentions

  • Mention alerts for your IGN plus custom aliases, with optional whole-word matching
  • Line highlight — mentions tint the whole chat line in a color of your choice
  • 14 notification sounds, master volume toggles, and per-tab sound control
  • Visual ping — a draggable on-screen indicator for players who keep sound off
  • Popup toasts and configurable cooldowns to prevent spam
  • Own messages never trigger your own mentions

Quality of Life

  • Duplicate collapsing — spam floods merge into one line with a red (x3) counter
  • Right-click any message to pin a highlight on it for later
  • Search — live-filter the active tab with Alt+F, plain text or regex
  • Filters & Mutes — silence senders or keywords across every tab
  • Match Builder — create tab matchers without touching regex
  • Chat fonts — Default, smooth Unicode, or Enchanting Table

Customization & Accessibility

  • Focused/unfocused appearances — text scale, opacity, line spacing, width, and height for each state
  • Configurable message fade — choose how long unfocused messages stay visible, or disable fading entirely
  • Session history up to 5,000 messages with full scrollback
  • Search, privacy mode, focus mode, and reduced-motion support
  • Export and import your entire configuration as a file — share setups or back them up

Great for Staff

ChatDeck is built with moderation workflows in mind:

  • Dedicated tabs for staff chat, spy channels, and alert feeds keep monitoring separate from play
  • Mute a noisy tab without losing its history
  • Right-click a message to highlight evidence lines before screenshotting
  • Session scrollback holds thousands of messages for reviewing reports
  • Import a config file once and the whole staff layout is ready — same mod for everyone

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1, client-side only — servers and other players don't need it
  • Download the file that matches your loader: Fabric builds need Fabric Loader + Fabric API, NeoForge builds need NeoForge 21.1.x
  • Java 21

All configuration is in-game — no editing files. Open ChatDeck settings from the gear button on the chat tab bar or via Mod Menu.

What's new in 2.1.6: file-based config export/import, duplicate collapsing, mention & self-highlighting, right-click tab menus, sender/term mutes, and the Match Builder.
