About this project
What does Crazy Spawners add?
Crazy Spawners overhauls vanilla monster spawners to make them dangerous, persistent and hard to cheese.
Features:
Breaking a Spawner - Spawners take longer to mine (4x slower by default, configurable). - Mining progress is saved: if you stop, the crack stays visible and you pick up where you left off, even after a restart. - While you mine a spawner you get Weakness (effect, duration and level are configurable). - Spawners are immune to explosions.
The Spawner Blocks Fights Back - Spawn Brust: Each time you start mining, the spawner immediately runs its own spawn cycle. A configurable cooldown keeps it fair. - Ambush: The first time you hit a spawner, there's a chance it becomes enraged and rapidly spawns mobs around you for a few seconds. Enraged mobs drop no loot and never spawn inside walls.
Spawned Mobs - Spawner monsters spawn at any light level, even in full daylight. - Mobs that come out of a spawner don't burn in the sun. Fire, lava and Fire Aspect still work. - Each spawner counts the mobs it spawns. After a configurable limit, mobs stop dropping loot.
Configuration & Compatibility - This mod allows you to override vanilla spawner values on every spawner:
activation range, spawn delays, spawn count (random between a min and a max), spawn range and max nearby entities. - Optional Enhanced AI compat: set the chance that spawner mobs become Miners. - Trial spawners are left untouched. - Server-side only: players can join without installing the mod.
- Spawners from other mods can be added through the block tag crazyspawners:spawners.
This mod is not complete; many features still need to be implemented.
FAQ
Can I use it in my modpack? Yes.
Does it lag? No. It reacts only to events (mining, spawning, explosions, deaths), and the ambush only runs while it's active.
